uh, he's been doing this since he first started at dior in '97...

Oh.....oops.

A'ight... good to know!

(Thanks ;) )

Anywho... my guess would be that we'll see some of the red & black (you know... the looks where the models got "unfortunate" written/drawn all over their faces). Maybe the prints on their skirts will resurface. Some of those tailored skirt-suits maybe? With the actual embroidery replaced by prints or less complex ones. You guys think the "nude"-thing will come back? And maybe the mermaid-ish dresses Lily is wearing in a more free-flowing, lighter version.

(Secretly, I'm wishing for some awesome armor for everyday wear :ninja:)

ok.

having JUST now finished watching the video on dior.com, i have to say that there is no question in my mind whatsoever that this man is an utter genius.

i am inspired and awed by him in such a powerful way, i literally cried while watching the finale of that show. to be able to express yourself so creatively is a gift that so few possess. his passion is limitless and i feel like he just allowed me to indulge within it, like a vampire giving you its precious, supernatural blood.

this collection is pure unadulterated ART. and in its creation the most powerful, passionate beauty shines.

SPECTACULAR!

I wasn't sure at first, but now I love it, especially after seeing the video. Even the lettuce dresses are growing on me! :p

Unrelated to Dior but related to John Galliano, has anyone seen anything on the launch of the new galliano line? That was supposed to happen yesterday in Paris as well.

Did anyone know the song for the punk section?
i was so amazed by the sudden change of bg from light to darkness with the wheel spinning!
I love how the 1st model performed!

I thought that was the "lettuce" section?

The red scene was "I Wanna Be Your Dog" by Iggy Pop and The Stooges, although the version they played may have been a cover. It didn't sound like Iggy.

^ Samson by Regina Spektor

This has to be John's most wearable couture collection since the s/s 05 collection. Take that armor off, remove the head dresses (even though that would suck, cause they look gorgeous) and you basically have a bunch of beautifully draped and embroidered gowns ready for any couture client to wear to the most fabulous of soirees.

It's still Ekaterina Kashyntseva... look up in this page for a link to her thread here :flower:

And I agree, Spike... the dresses from the first segment and the Greek section alone are just extremely superb. They'd kill at any red carpet. And the stuff from the punk section.. I won't be surprised if that'd be the direction is going with the S/S 07 RTW. That thing Natasha wears, is that trimmed peacock or something? It is so gorgeous, amazing. Also I am really starting to feel the lettuces. That last dress on Melody especially. You said it before, but paint it white, take away a few kilos of fabric and you're ready for the altar. And somehow.. I really want one of those helmets from the last segment. So dramatic! The ones on Hedvig-Marie and Elise are to die for!
