Christian Dior HC F/W 04.05 Paris

Well, one thing's for sure; never a dull moment when Dior shows!

:P

Great pics Acid...I actually like this collection a lot more than his past couture collections...especially the Spring 2003... It's over the top, it's kind of gawdy, and IMO Galliano at his best at Dior

I'm inclined to agree that dear John seems heavily "inspired" by VW... But he's such a big name that he's practically untouchable.

Remember the Balenciaga debacle a few seasons ago? He certainly didn't get off lightly.
i don't.
what happened?

I haven't finished reading the whole topic because I quit halway through but it seems like I was always saying how unwearable Galliano's couture was and few people agreed with me and now I find this one of his most wearable collections and most people say its unwearable!!! When will it end? Anyway I am not a fan of Galliano but I really like this collection. Hello last collection with the scarab beatles, so unwearable. I really like this influence, VW or not. :flower:

Are you referring to when he 'stole' some ideas for his Spring 2002 collection...I think it was that collection

I really really don't see any resemblence to that VW collection...ok so the inspiration was the same, but the outfits are SO different....they can't be compared...(now don't start saying there was now inspring but only copywork...we've heard that now :P)

i actually agree.
i only brought up that vw collection because
a: john always seems to be inspired by mme westwood in one way or another, and
b: they both shared the same common inspiration: queen elizabeth i

:flower:

other than that, i must say that the collection at dior and westwood are worlds apart.

ps: i  this thread. we're at like 8 pages now right? :P

In retrospect the Egyptian collection was a million times better than this one...

I've just found a Guardian article and one of the photos of Galliano in a silver jacket embroidered with tatoo-like apllique reads, 'Galliano from his time at Westwood'...does this mean that Galliano did work for Westwood?

Hello...it's couture...how many people on here actually buy it? I'm gonna go out on the limb and say nobody, so why are so many people concentrating on its wearability? Let the couture customers worry about that :ermm:

I think so, yes... Kaisik Wong was the designer. You'll find a mention of it here: http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/index...=0&#entry121973
