i've been out looking for purple tights, like the color/ones hebden is wearing, everywhere! they are nowhere to be found!

do we know about the opacity of those tights?

i feel like i remember reading that someone ordered a few pairs but sent them back because they weren't opaque enough..

I must say, I learn something new here almost every day. Never heard the word opacity used as a measure for tights. Makes sense I guess, but just always differentiated tights (greater opacity), from opaques.

Hue has a nice dark plum sort of purple..
you can find the brand at department stores and at stores like anthropologie..
they typically go for about $11 or less
and are also of a nice thickness, soft and opaque..

My We Love Colors order just came and WOW bright! Two, maybe three will be going back. My red and green pair......eeeeeekkkkkk lol.

opacity is generally measured in denier, which is how thickly knit the tight is, a higher denier is a higher opacity. The highest I've seen is 110 or 120 with tabio.

Anyway I think i'm going to wear my purple tights out tonight with a black shift dress and black strappy shoes (what a terrible descriptor but that is what they are!) and they have quite a high denier so fairly opaque. I bought them at Holt Renfrew like 3 or 4 years ago and thought they were on sale for cheaper than they actually were. Anyway if I can manage a picture I will!

This is the colour I got when I ordered 'rubine'. I thought by the name that it would be a dark reddish colour, but they're purple.

I guess I'm pretty conservative with tights colours (hahaha) because I really only like black, white (those two opaque please) and red. Crazier colours .. I don't know, they can look good but do easily look too cutesy.

you've definitely provided some inspiration for color combinations

i've got a grey dress that i wore last weekend with red tights, and i think it would like great paired with purple tights like the two girls above have done.. very cool

i also like the first girl with the yellow tights
she pulls off the yellow without being too wacky..
i think she strikes a good balance
