Elite Model Look is more than a model search. Organized by one of the biggest and most influential modeling agencies, the competition gives young girls the opportunity to break into the fashion world and launch a fabulous career.

Cindy, Giselle

Since it started in 1983, the Elite Model Look competition has discovered the likes of USA’s Cindy Crawford, Brazil’s Giselle Bundchen, China’s Liu Wen and the Netherlands’ Lara Stone.

Since there is no Philippine franchise holder for Elite, Malinao was initially recommended by French fashion and beauty expert Ines Ligron to Elite Model Look Asia Pacific Director David Lim, who has the last say on who makes the cut. Ligron, the former national director of Miss Universe in Japan, was tasked to search for representatives from Asia Pacific. She will train contestants from Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam in the two-week competition.

Contestants will be trained in catwalk, makeup, posing for top fashion photographers and wearing designer clothes. In previous competitions they have worn La Perla, Alexander McQueen, YSL and Tom Ford, among other luxury brands.

During the finals, the top 15 will be chosen by Elite New York and Women Milan, who will also choose the winner. Past winners have graced the covers of glossy international magazines, landed brand campaigns for high-end fashion houses, shot with renowned photographers and received a major modelling contract with Elite.

France is nowehre to be seen as well, what is happening there?>

French castings are in October, there are only three castings this year. Usually, there are six or seven castings. This means semi finals and the final will happen in a short amount of time.

Denmark- Lucca Kjærgaard & Anders Bærendtzen
