I have been away from this thread, but I had a very exciting scent week this week so I hope you guys don't mind if I do a little recap

Sunday

Joya Composition No. 1

Top notes of sparkling Italian mandarin, Brazilian orange and fresh quince. Heart notes of heliotrope petals, tuberose, jasmine, camellia and Damask rose. Dry down notes of creamy sandalwood, pale musk and a hint of tonka bean.

Monday:

Diptyque Olene

White flowers without apologies. A lush cascade of wisteria, narcissus, honeysuckle and, most prominently, jasmine. A fierce, take-no-prisoner sort of jasmine, with an opening so boldly indolic that it almost gives you a head rush.

Tuesday:

Annick Goual Mandragore

This citrusy and aromatic fragrance combines bergamot, sage, ginger, rockrose, and powder of mandrake to create a fresh, earthy, and mysterious scent.

Wednesday:

Miller et Bertaux Close Your Eyes and...

A warm woody gourmand with undertones of light florals that arouse romance and entice long lasting love.

Thursday:

Etat Libre d'Orange Archives 69

Top notes are mandarin orange, pink pepper and paprika; middle notes are incense, orchid and plum; base notes are musk, patchouli, benzoin and camphor.

Friday:

By Kilian Love, Don't Be Shy

Deceptively innocent, this deliciously scented little treat is an olfactory Turkish delight. At first soft and tender, Love: don’t be shy unfolds to reveal intensity worthy of the most experienced seductress. Created from an ancient recipe plucked from a sumptuous cuisine, this fragrance is a purely sensual confection. Top notes of glorious neroli recall a tentative and shy first kiss from fresh, moist lips. At the heart of the fragrance, sambac jasmine caresses the skin, already imbued with warm notes of rose and iris, followed by the ecstasy of a vanilla and musk embrace.

Rochas Byzance

Oh yeh!! I forgot I have that one! Its a luscious frag! I usually do not like chypres or aldehydes at ALL but the carnation and sandalwood really come out on my skin and make it superlovely.

Byzance by Rochas is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Byzance was launched in 1987. Byzance was created by Nicolas Mamounas and Alberto Morillas. Top notes are aldehydes, spices, carnation, green notes, mandarin orange, basil, citruses, cardamom and lemon; middle notes are tuberose, orris root, jasmine, turkish rose, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley and anise; base notes are sandalwood, amber, musk, vanilla, heliotrope and cedar.

^Ohh my...chypre & aldehyde are my favs, the vintage ones esp. However, we have to face the ugly reformation versions which are abnoxious and disgusting, I LOATHE THEM!!!

Kiehl's Original Musk
Another one I like is Kiehl's Patchouli. I have like half a bottle each left of "Vintage" and "Penang" and hoard every drop. Luckily it only takes a drop - its potent as poison.

If you are a patch aficionada, you realize that patch only improves with age, becoming more mellow and deep. Too bad Kiehl's has d/c'd making these. They were the best evah.

^ I was going to say, I didn't know Kiehl's made a patchouli oil.
