I think the ones Catty has on her site are the "denim" shawls, whereas the ones that have the shine are the "Lurex" shawls.

The hologram sticker, the authenticity card, the quality of the leather, the stitching, the hardware, the engraving, the list goes on. Replica makers have been copying Chanel since its inception; they've never gotten it 100%, and they still haven't.

i'm not looking to resell, so the hologram and the authenticity card don't matter....would you say you can tell the difference when you see somebody walking around (i don't mean a cruddy fake cambon or something similar)? i don't really "know" chanel very well, but i always wonder when i see one

i still think i can spot a LV, something about the slightly pinkish tone of the leather, my reps haven't patina'd correctly...so i have given all but one away, and the LV reps that i have purchased, the stitching seems a little "too yellow"....but i have never had the nerve to ask someone on the street, if their bag was real or not

but i have not purchased one of cattys LVs or one of Jacky's chanel...so i may be proven wrong!

the MJ clutch is cute, but I personally wouldn't buy it..not even a rep. I tend to forget leaving things around like wallet or clutches since they are so small.

T&D have done magenta 3 times. I have a City from the 2nd run and a Courier from the most recent batch. I've seen ALL 3 runs IRL and I prefer the 2nd batch out of all 3. I think it's the best!

Although I know Miz*Bags*Behavin authenticates Chanel and obviously has extensive knowledge of the brand, I agree with madamerousseau. MOST people wouldn't know one of Jacky's good Chanels from the atuh. And even people who know Chanel wouldn't automatically be able to detect it. Really, who's going to ask to see your hologram, authenticity card or serial number? And unless you're near enough to get a good look at the stitching and leather, you won't be able to tell there either. I'm not suggesting that there aren't differences, but MOST people, (even those who KNOW Chanel), haven't seen and handled hundreds of auths (to be able to tell from a mere glance if a bag is auth or rep).

The more I see the auths in the boutique, the more I discover their flaws. Squished areas of leather, sides sticking out, etc. And these are the bags being displayed in the window for all to see and admire!!

Like onlythebest4me's statement about auths being so overpriced and justified as an "investment". A HOUSE is an investment.!! Even if it retains value, a purse still just a BAG to haul around our stuff! I am and always will be a rep buyer. I know for a fact that within the next 5 years I will have the means to purchase auth....but I don't want to!! People carrying auth bags get asked if their bags are fake. Jacky puts an auth up on his site and it's immediately dubbed "really bad". Obviously, there are more people who wouldn't know an auth if it hit them in the face than there are people with the distinguishing eye for the small differences between auth and rep.

I'm so ready for Jacky's xl!!!!!
