i think the top is kind of cute...not really down with the shorts!
however, one thing i've learned is that often the best pieces in the target/go lines are not necessarily the ones that photograph the best. (i sometimes think that's true of even designer-designer lines...there are pieces that are meant to get editorial, and others that really work best when you see them on a real person in real life.) i often just wait till i can get the clothes in my hands to figure out the best pieces.
and to pipe in on the quality bit, i find with go lines that there are maybe a few pieces that are of very nice quality for the price. i thought erin fetherston's coats were done nicely, and i remember of the temperley line that the petal sweater dress seemed much higher quality than the $50 price tag (i think it was $50...something like that.) i do find the cotton pieces to be quite cheap in terms of quality, even for target sometimes. to sum up, i think it really depends on the individual piece. if you're willing to dig a little, there is that elusive piece that manages to be of good quality, good price and good design. it's just most of the pieces don't have all three all at once...
