Actually, I don't think there was $ exchanged. It seems more likely that BF told the employee they would not report her to the authorities for violating confidentiality agreements (which can result in jail time AND fines) if she dropped the charges against Lindsay. It's a serious thing to violate someone's privacy if you work in healthcare and the employee was going to get in big trouble.

Also, if no official complaint is registered, that leaves the employee able to get another job in the same field. If this had gone on record, she would have had no chance of being hired anywhere else for any job that involves confidentiality.

Personally, I think she just dropped it because she knew her chances of winning weren't strong. Running off to TMZ and getting paid it made her claims extremely suspicious. She also had no witnesses. Also, it's kind of hard to imagine someone spraining their wrist because a phone was grabbed out of their hand unless Lindsay was some super strong freak of nature. And lastly, if you work at a place like BF, it is expected that you will eventually have to deal with someone who lashes out physically and might even need to be restrained. People are dealing with their demons; it is not going to be like a tea party.

Former Betty Ford Employee Drops Charges...but the Lindsay Lohan Investigation Continues

Despite reports that Lindsay Lohan's alleged battery victim is dropping the criminal complaint against the actress, E! News has learned that the investigation is ongoing.
A spokesperson for the Palm Desert Police Department confirms that Dawn Holland's decision not to press charges will not stop them from continuing to look into the incident.

"We are continuing our investigation," the spokeswoman tells E!. "We hope to be done sometime in January."
Holland's lawyer, Kevin Davidson, says his client does not want to pursue a case against Lindsay. "Dawn will not continue to press charges against Lindsay, nor will she be assisting any further in the investigation or prosecution," he says.
When asked if the investigation would be halted because of Dawn's refusal to participate, the spokeswoman told us, "I don't believe that is the case."

Model and heiress Lydia Hearst Shaw has landed her first big Hollywood role as a comic character based on troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan. Hearst, a 26-year-old heir to the Hearst publishing fortune and daughter of once-kidnapped Patricia Campbell Hearst and Bernard Shaw, will play the lead role in "Dogs in Pocketbooks."
Screenwriter Charles Casillo told us, "Lydia will play a bratty movie goddess in and out of rehab, in trouble with the law, and hounded by greedy agents, predatory paparazzi, off-the-wall stalkers and crazed media -- a role obviously based on Lindsay Lohan.

"I spent a lot of time casting for the right actress for this screwball comedy, but Lydia is perfect. She's one of the few supermodels who can actually act. She's smart, well-read, charming and very beautiful. We looked at a lot of actresses for this role, and I was really knocked out."
Casillo -- whose short film "Fetish" was a hit on the festival circuit -- added, "[The movie] is in no way mean-spirited towards Lindsay. It's the kind of thing she has spoofed about herself in the past. It's more of a satire about the crazy people around her and the situations they generate. It satirizes the obsession with modern celebrity."

"Dynasty" icon Joan Collins will star as a high-powered agent in the picture, which starts shooting here and in LA in February. Collins told us, "The script is a hoot -- a satire on the crazed hysteria surrounding show-biz celebrities. I'm playing an aggressive, sexy, powerful woman. For a change."
Hearst, who has a lucrative modeling career and has shot campaigns for Bottega Veneta, Escada and Lord & Taylor, was abroad on a shoot and couldn't be reached for comment. She recently relocated from New York to Hollywood to focus on her acting career, and has been dating Jeff Goldblum.

Lindsay Lohan may be an actress herself, but she's about to portrayed on the big screen by 26-year-old Lydia Hearst Shaw ... heir to the Hearst publishing fortune. As for Lydia playing the role, Michael Lohan tells X17online, "My hat's off to her."
The daughter of the infamous Patty Hearst has been selected to play the starring role in the movie Dogs in Pocketbooks, and her character will be based on Lilo.

Lindsay's dad, Michael Lohan, tells X17online exclusively:

"Lydia's my Long Island neighbor. We literally live next door to each other. If people are that fascinated with Lindsay and our family, then great. But the Hearst's have an interesting background themselves, and I'd think they'd want to do a movie on their own family. Personally, I don't understand why Mr. Casillo and Lydia Hearst find the need to make a movie about Lindsay and our family when the Hearsts family probably has more drama than ours. Besides, how can you make a movie about a family when you don't have the facts? I smell more attorney fees brewing. If this is a satire, I bet they get Courtney Love to play Dina, Mel Gibson to play me, and Lydia should really fit the bill as Lindsay.

Lohan's Mulling Over Legal Action Against Movie

Producers of "Dogs in Pocketbooks" -- a movie pretty clearly based on Lindsay Lohan's wild ride -- may have to open their own pocketbooks, because the Lohan clan is considering legal action.

As we told you yesterday, "Dogs" is based on a spoiled brat prone to alcohol and [edited] binges, reckless driving, failed rehab attempts, career-ending partying and ruthless hangers-on.

Lydia Hearst, Lindsay's spitting image, will star in the movie.

Dina Lohansays the new movie "is definitely based on Lindsay's likeness," and "We have a very strong case. It's shadowing E*TRADE" -- referring to Lohan's suit against the online brokerage firm which produced a commercial featuring a baby Lindsay.

Now we've learned Lohan's family lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, has been contacted by the Lohan family and it seems Ovadia thinks they have a case: "They are again using her likeness without her being compensated."

Ovadia adds, "Not only that but they are advertising the fact that they are using her likeness."

Dina warns, "Anyone bringing negativity will be dealt with accordingly."

^ Good question....Oliver Stone made an awful film about President Bush without any sort of cooperation or approval; I don't know where the line is between a public person and their privacy...But they are not making the film about Lindsay, just using her 'story' as a basis for the movie... I say sue them for $200 Million and hope they come up with enough pay off money to fund another ridiculously expensive sports car...

But in my opinion, money is not the problem. The thing is there's a girl trying to get over some addictions and I don't think hearing all the time jokes about herself would be the best way to recovery.
You know, maybe for the "Mother of the Year" the only thing in this case is $200 Million but for a normal person it isn't

Well, it's hard to feel too bad for Lindsay when she is such an active participant in keeping her 'recovery' out there in the media... I wonder if sometime she realizes that being a paparazzi item is really the only 'career' she has left. If she was serious about getting better, she would get into a healthier world than Hollywood, a yacht in Cannes or the Downtown NY club scene, which have been her typical locations of choice...not the sort of places to get and stay sober as far as I can see, more like a guarantee of going back to your old ways...
