Lindsay Lohan: I Was So Damn Busy ...
2/14/2011 12:10 AM PST by TMZ Staff

Lindsay Lohan has an uncomplicated excuse for not returning the necklace that triggered a felony grand theft charge -- she was very, very busy.

According to the police report obtained by TMZ, Lindsay's assistant gave cops this story: "Ms. Lohan was in possession of the necklace and wanted to give the necklace back to the store the day after she took it from the store, but she was very busy."

As TMZ already reported, Lindsay was tipped off that a search warrant had been issued and then had her assistant make a beeline for the police station before the warrant could be executed.

Lindsay's assistant told cops ... before going to the police station she tried returning the necklace to the jewelry store, but no one there picked up the phone.

Interesting note from cops: "There was no description of the stolen necklace give to Ms. Lohan, yet she gave the exact necklace in question to her assistant to return."

We still need to know more about that breach of security.

This is the problem with lying...

Once you tell a lie, you have to tell another lie...

And another, and another, and another.

Every violation of truth is not only a sort of suicide in the liar, but is a stab at the health of human society. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

^ For God's sake- what is wrong with walking out with a $2,500 necklace and just keeping it if you are busy!!? Jeeze, these people are so judgemental!!

"Love is in the air- every sight and every sound...." :innocent:
I don't know about you, but I miss the romantic good old days- cops being called by the neighbors, screaming matches in the middle of Canal Street at 3:AM...Ah, romance!!
Lindsay -- Valentine's Day with Samantha Ronson

32 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

Lindsay Lohan will spend her Valentine's Day eating with a special friend ... Samantha Ronson ... but sources close to the actress tell us the plans are strictly platonic.
We're told Lindsay and Samantha will join a small group of friends for an intimate dinner party in Brentwood -- in honor of LiLo's entertainment manager's birthday.

One person from LiLo's inner circle tells us,
"At the moment Lindsay and Samantha are just friends ... nothing more ... nothing less."

Lindsay Prosecutor: We Believe It's a $2,500 Necklace
2/15/2011 12:45 AM PST by TMZ Staff

The prosecutor in the Lindsay Lohan shoplifting case believes the necklace in question is worth $2,500 ... but she's open to hearing arguments from Lindsay's lawyer that the price tag is grossly inflated.

TMZ broke the story ... several jewelers claim the market value of the necklace is anywhere between $800 and $1,000. Under California law, if the item in question is worth $950 or less, the case must be filed as a misdemeanor, not a felony.

Deputy D.A. Danette Meyers tells TMZ, "If Shawn (Lindsay's lawyer) presents me with credible evidence of value, we will take a look at it. But based upon what's in front of us -- what the store owner and designer said -- the necklace is worth $2,500."

Meyers adds, ultimately "It's a battle for the jury."

"How can she say a necklace with a $2,500 price tag is worth $2,500....it's like so not cool and stuff! Mommy!"

Lohan is co-hosting the radio show "Stepping On the Tabloids With Dina and Chaunce," with Chaunce Hayden, as RadarOnline.com previously reported.

According to the source, the two women spoke about parenting and Michelle "Bombshell" McGee revealed that despite her tattoos, she has forbidden her young children from getting any of their own.

Miss Bombshell, as you may know, I'm a former Rockette and I'm not going to pull any punches here, so let's start out with the really tough questions- I know you're able to handle it!!

Lindsay Lohan didn’t have to go straight to jail yesterday after her court hearing for breaking probation, as she got another huge break, and Dina Lohan knows exactly who to thank for that — God.

Yesterday, Lindsay’s lawyer entered a plea of not guilty for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store on Jan. 22. But L.A. Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz revoked Lindsay’s probation.

Bail was set at $40,000 and her next hearing is scheduled for Feb. 23.

So what does mother Dina think about the results?

“All good,” Dina tells PopEater. “God has a big plan.”

Seems like we're not the only ones who thought Lindsay Lohan could make a comeback by nabbing the part of Lois Lane in the new Superman flick.

Lindsay agrees, too!

"It's true, she's in the talking stage now," a source close to Lohan tells us about her possible involvement in the Zack Snyder-directed Superman: Man of Steel.

So how did this all come about? And which role is she eyeing? Well...

"Lindsay wants a part in this movie bad," explains one of her close pals. "Ever since news broke that Henry Cavill was cast, she did everything in her power to track down his number and try and set up a meeting with him and the studio."

And it appears Lohan's determination might pay off.

However, that doesn't totally mean she will nab the role of Lois Lane.

LiLo insiders tell us that her people are in talks to cast her "in a major role" in the upcoming film and are playing coy as to what role, exactly, this might be.

Olivia Wilde has been a front runner for Lois Lane for a while, but nothing has been set in Kryptonite.

Aside from the jewelry debacle, we're told Lindsay—despite being out at Chateau Marmont a few times—has been on good behavior.

"She's serious about making a comeback," explains the source. "No booze, no [edited]. She wants people to remember why she was famous in the first place, and that's because she's talented."

As for the Superman rumors, Dina Lohan tells us: "We really can't make a comment at this time."

We're totally supportive of Linds getting any big role in this flick as long as she stays on the straight and narrow path and doesn't take things from her costar's trailers!

AUSTRIAN BUSINESSMAN CONSIDERS SUING LINDSAY LOHAN FOR BAILING ON PAID APPEARANCE

Richard Lugner, known as an eccentric Austrian businessman, is considering legal action against Lindsay Lohan after the actress backed out of a scheduled appearance.

Lugner had confirmed Lilo as his guest to last year's Vienna Opera Ball and had even paid the troubled starlet $270,000 for her appearance. After claiming she missed her flight, Lindsay was a no-show at the annual event. The 78-year-old businessman says despite not showing up, Lilo still took the money, and to this day, has returned only $13,000.

When asked about the lawsuit, Lugner said, "If we sue, we are faced with the problem of how solvent she is."
Lindsay has yet to comment on the incident.

Lugner has invited Paris Hilton, Dita Von Teese, Nicollette Sheridan, Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra to the event in past years.
The Austrian millionaire will take actress Bo Derek and actor Larry Hagman to next month's Vienna Opera Ball on March 3.

I sometimes feel if you worked in a mental institution and dealt with the patients every day, they would make more sense than the Lohans do!!

Michael Lohan has revealed HE is the mystery person who booked Lindsay Lohan on "Letterman" this week ... and tells TMZ he only signed her up after getting the green light from Lindsay herself.

In case you haven't heard -- Letterman had to issue a retraction this morning, explaining Lindsay would not be doing the "Top 10" bit on Thursday as they had announced yesterday -- after Lindsay tweeted that she NEVER agreed to do the show.

Letterman's people released a statement explaining how someone "purporting to be a friend of Lindsays" reached out to them and made the booking ... but Dave's camp didn't reveal the name of the friend.

But Michael says he was behind it -- telling TMZ he got the idea after Dave cracked a joke at Lindsay's expense during Friday's "Top 10" ... and Lindsay was into it.

Michael says Lindsay "knew full well" about the booking ... they even discussed transportation from the L.A. studio, where Lindsay would be doing the bit via satellite.

Michael insists everything was going smoothly -- until Lindsay's reps got wind of the appearance and shut it down.

Now, Michael tells us he's pi**ed -- adding, "Anything positive that I bring into her life ... [her people] try to nix it."

Michael Lohan is calling out the Late Show with David Letterman producers for their statement claiming an unauthorized friend of Lindsay's booked her now-cancelled appearance in which she was set to read the Top Ten list.
Papa Lohan, who says he booked Lindsay's appearance himself, tells X17online exclusively:
"They are liars. I set this up entirely with Lindsay's permission. It went through Lindsay and she really wanted to do it. It was all set, but at the last minute, Lou Taylor and Leslie Sloane canceled her appearance."
The statement from Worldwide Pants went on to say, "Someone purporting to be a friend of Lindsay's reached out to the show yesterday, allegedly on her behalf, and booked her to appear. Clearly, this person was not authorized to make commitments on her behalf."
Lohan adds, "All lies. There was never a no-authorization situation going on. I had full authority to do this."
Michael explains that after Letterman made fun of Lindsay in a recent Top Ten list ... alluding that she stole a Grammy, he told Lilo it would be funny to send the host a Grammy with a note that read, "You got me."
Lohan goes on to explain Late Show producers found out about the Grammy joke and they reached out to Lindsay to be a part of the show ... calling her "a good sport" and claiming Dave said she was "funnier than some of my writers."

Missed posting wise-man, got-my-life-together Chuckie Sheen's words for LiLoser:

But Charlie's advice -- that Lindsay "work on her impulse control" -- didn't go over so well ... because Lindsay doesn't believe she has self-control problems.

Perhaps Sheen can help her with a geography lesson, too -- on denial.
