Libertine for Target

The collection is online now - I ended up getting tons of stuff
The most I got so far for any Go collection, I think.

Use code TGTAFLAE for 10% off your order.

has anyone seen the navy trench coat or the blue blazer with white piping in person? what are they like?

I went by Target yesterday and checked it out. I ended up getting the eyelet apron cami, the tree t-shirt and the army green pants.

After looking at the website I would definitely like one or more of the scarves, the dark-washed jeans and the lace white blouse. I don't like any of the dresses in this collection.

I saw the navy trench. The material seemed sturdy. I didn't really check it out much though because it wasn't my style.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff: blue silk cami, shirtdress, navy/green cardigan, crepe lace front 3/4 slv shirt + ebony military pants. I always do this -- I order everything I like and then see what fits and send half of it back. I was hoping to get the shirtdress in the striped colorway, but they only had fog. So if I love it, I guess I'll order the striped one when they post it. I wasn't really counting on much from this collection (the Alice Temperley group is much more me...) but I'll post a report once my stuff arrives...

Can anyone testify as to the fit of this collection? I have found most of the go international lines to have odd fitting, which makes it very difficult to order online. Does it run small, large, only some pieces run small? etc....

Any insight would be VERY much appreciated. I am dying to order some stuff but don't want to get screwed on the sizing. Thanks.

Wow, I wonder if they released the line early around here too! Too bad I wasn't able to go to Target to find out. The Libertine Exclusives is now up on target.com, which includes the striped shirtdress afterglow mentioned and the striped tunics:

I'm interested in a lot stuff, but I think I'm going to see them in person or wait to hear more tFS reviews. :)

i saw both but only really handled the blue blazer. i thought it was done quite well, actually, and i think i remember liking the lining, which was some sort of print...sorry i can't be more detailed!

It reminds me of Luella's collection  The kindergarden colors and prints. Blech.

I returned the green military pants I bought. I don't think I'll wear them much.

I wonder if they are taking a different approach to releasing this line? With Patrick Robinson each store had different items out. I went to 4 stores today to see if I could score the lace blouse or the dark denim jeans. Of the 3 stores that even had the merchandise out, all of them had pretty much the same items. No scarves or accessories at all.

I think I'm going to just get a scarf, the jeans and the lace blouse online.

For those of you who have ordered online, and returned things, can you return the items to a local Target store or do you have to ship them back?

Overall this line isn't as bad as I anticipate although a lot of the rainbow bright colors are scary. They did manage to sneak in a few basics that I can tolerate. This collection avoids joining Benahz and Proenza as the worst in the GO line for me.

Thanks for the link and information. :flower:

I'm going to search a local Target today to see if they've received the collection yet. Hopefully they'll have some pieces.

I didnt realize this was out already. The only thing I wanted was the black dress with the holey/eyelet collar. I thought it would be more of a tunic but it was more of a structured dress and the fabric is too heavy for summer.

I didn't see the striped tunic dress and the pink is REALLY bright.

^^That is the shirt that I want to buy but couldn't find. I'll probably order it online tonight. I'm just not up for looking all over the city.

madhuri - how is the fit? i am thinking of ordering a few things.

It's junior sizing with no even sizes. I found that the same size pants I got with Patrick Robinson (11) fit with this line as well. The only thing is the junior sizes make me feel like a fat cow even though I'm not that big at all:rolleyes:

I also went to my nearby Target to check things out.

I ended up buying the black belted crepe dress (the one with the collar details) as well as a navy silk tank with black lace details.
The black dress is pretty well cut for its price and I love the fact that it has pockets.
It's cut a litte small, just to echo what other members have said so I ended up getting it a size bigger than usual.

I also tried on the shirtdress in fog in S.
It looked okay in front, but from the side it made me look like I was preggers.
I ordered it in cream & violet online in XS so hopefully it'll work out when I get it.

I saw the navy trench too, no blazers though and it was a really cute piece.
There were no scarves, duffel bags or hats available in the Target I was at.

Overall this is a pretty decent GO collection.
I feel that the sizing can be on the small side though, so it might be worth is sizing up especially for form-fitting pieces.
I ordered most of the Libertine stuff online so hopefully it'll arrive soon.
I can't wait to see how the whale duffel bag looks like- it'll make a cute carry-on bag!

I typed up a rather lengthy review here, but for some reason my computer went back a page on its own and the message disappeared.

Anyway, I visited a local Target and was somewhat underwhelmed. I tried on the black crepe dress - the item I wanted most - but ultimately decided against it. The price ($40) was too much for a simple dress and the sizing was odd. I usually wear the smallest size available, but in this case I found a size 5 fit best.

There were no accessories (scarves, bags, hats, etc.) at the Target I visited, unfortunately. I saw a navy trench that I enjoyed, but once again it was over my budget.

Overall, the pieces were well made and unique. I look forward to looking at the selection at a different Target in hopes of seeing some of the scarves and bags that people have been raving about.

Thank you so much Princess Imp for that discount code. I just ordered that beautiful lace blouse and the dark denim jeans. It said the shirt would ship in 2-6 weeks. The jeans will ship tomorrow. I can't wait!
