Libertine for Target

i visited my local target and the libertine racks were bursting....i saw the blue blazer (the one that is pictured in vogue magazine) and liked it. i also saw the blue trench but wasnt impressed. it was OK enough, i just would never wear it....i saw the white lacey crepe top that laneyrachel pictured. it looked like it ran big. however since it buttons in the back i might have a hard time buttoning it without someone around to help me however....sadly, my targets had NO striped tunics or scarves of cornucopia print tops. drat!!!
i was disapointed with the libertine print button down shirts. the pirate ships shorts looked nice. i liked the funnel neck jacket however since it had that swarovski rose thingie design on the back it looked immature. the jeans and pants i saw looked boring.

the only thing i ended up buying was the crepe (aka polyester) dress for 39.99. it fit a little on the small size.
i plan on wearing it to work tommorow.

for those of you that are wondering about returning things...i highly reccomend buying things from target.com. there's free shipping and you can use a 10% off code all the time. all you need to do to return an item is print a receipt from target.com. its easy. and they will credit you the full retail price, even if you used a 10% off code.:flower:

has anyone seen the navy trench coat or the blue blazer with white piping in person? what are they like?

I saw the trench. I think it looked cheap. The big white button was ugly.

I ended up getting the black shorts and shrit dress. I was going to get the pinstriped blouse with the bow but didn't. Now that I'm home I wish I would have bought it. It was really cute. Also there was only 1 tank left(not my size)that had the screen print of the robin on it. It was really cute. I would have bought it.

i'll have to run down to my local target after work tomorrow if i get a chance (i've got some errands to do in a different area but might be able to pop over)

you've all intrigued me with your reviews!
the only item i was really interested in was the black crepe dress and i also like the blouse with the buttons down the back..
it would be good to see these pieces in person..
i like to touch the fabrics and get a feel for them, but lucy's suggestion of buying online then returning in the store is very smart..
i did that with some proenza schouler stuff and the return was ridiculously easy.

I posted a longer review here of my visit to Target if anyone is interested. ^_^

By the way, did anyone try on the cream lace bolero? I saw it at the store I went to today, but I didn't actually see if it fit or not.

i tried on the bolero and ended up getting it because i really liked it. i found it to be very well done for $27 and kind of a fun, unique piece for the collection. i has a sort of "flared" shape in the back and in the sleeves, so it doesn't hang right down. i found it fit true to size (i got a small, but if i wanted it very cropped, i could have gotten a x-small -- or if you wanted it longer and more voluminous, i could have gone up to the medium). because it's open in the front and voluminous, i think it's best to try on and see what kind of proportion you want in terms of volume. i plan on wearing mine with a long, fitted black tank top and jeans tucked into black riding boots.

It's junior sizing with no even sizes. I found that the same size pants I got with Patrick Robinson (11) fit with this line as well. The only thing is the junior sizes make me feel like a fat cow even though I'm not that big at all:rolleyes:

Same with me!! I bought Patrick Robinson shorts in size 11, and had to get the same for Libertine shorts...even though I am not a size 11 anywhere else! It does indeed make me feel like a fat cow:lol:

I ordered a whole bunch of stuff just now, including the black crepe dress. I hope everything fits right since a lot of you guys said the fit for the pieces is weird. :(

^ The good thing is, if the items don't work out, you can easily return them at a local Target store. :flower:

Thanks for the information, nogoodforme!

Well, my main reason for ordering online is I can't get to a Target easily. The closest to me is about an hour and a half on public transportation. :yuk: I tried to convince a friend who drives to go to Target; feeling and trying on the clothes is the most fun part!

i am indeed wearing the crepe dress today to work. after wearing it for a few hours its a bit tight in the shoulder area - but no biggie. im still really liking the dress a lot.

If you don't mind me asking, did you pair the dress with anything else or did you wear it alone? I'm still contemplating whether or not I want to buy it; I just don't know what I'd wear it with.

i wore it alone but with opaque tights...(my office's AC is quite strong)
i think it is an all-season dress. B)

i can also say that the dress also covers up the tummy area well, which i like.

i was at the grocery store today and the girl checking me out thought the dress was great. she assumed it was vintage and was surprised that i got it at target.

I wore the silk blouse with lace in front that buttons along and ties in the back and have gotten several comments on it today. I really like it. I also liked the black dress Lucy mentioned, but it fit me kind of weird when I tried it on (I am pretty petite and a 5 was a bit too tight for me in the belly). That was the only one they had in the store so I might order a 7 online and try it. I definitely looks vintage, my only complaint is the belt looks kind of cheap. If you order it online I would recommend going up a size. My local target had a bunch of the items (tons of tees, shirts, shorts, skirts), but I am really eager to see the stripped dress IRL, I think it comes out in a few weeks.

went to my local target and got the pin stripped dress (blue and green stripes) it fits really well. also grabbed the red and white stripped button up shirt with the bow tie. overall okay quality i'd say.

Hmm when I ordered to white lace blouse online I got a confirmation saying the estimated ship date is September 14th! That seems like an awfully long time. Summer will be over! Are target's estimated ship times usually accurate?

I actually saw the dark denim jeans I ordered online in the store. There was only one pair left. I checked it out for the quality and I must say I really love the color of the wash and the texture of the denim.

It's weird to see what items are selling. The dark-denim jeans apparently were snapped up and that long "fog" dress. Their were plenty of those black crepe dresses left.

I went this weekend and I got the crepe dress and the bolero. The dress does fit a size small is is kinda tough to get on and off, but it's super cute.

I was looking for the shirtdress and scarves, but didn't see them. maybe they'll be released later.

The shirt that buttons in the back looked awfully boxy and the tees were kind of meh.

just got back from target and i was quite pleased with what i found...as i had thought nothing was gonna interest me....

i tried on:
black crepe dress
blue silk cami dress
white cotton eyelet dress
khaki military cropped jacket with bird
grey tank with bird screen
black shorts
silk and lace camis

i thought the crepe dress was adorable, but fit really tiny in the shoulders and big in the hips, and im really petite on top, and big on the bottom and it just fit weird. plus, gosh how it would have been amazing if it WASN"T polyester! i hate poly!!! so sad...it was gorgeous...

the blue dress fit really nicely, but it was definatly borderline underwear....and i commonly use slips for dresses...maybe the color...

the jackets fit nicely, but the silouette it created just wasn't nice on my frame...

i bought the white eyelet dress, the bird tank and the silk charmeus cami...

i may go back and try more time when i have more time, but overall, nice collection!
