London & United Kingdom Schools ... for Fashion

HOW MUCH?! That's utterly ridiculous for a school that has no precedent. It's not Oxford.

Yes!! Is istituto maranggoni that bad ? I have a friend there studying fashion design. I dont know the exact major tho, but why ? Which major are you in ? And why they are bad ?

The courses at CNC look lovely but I do wonder who will be able to afford them. I am on a gap year at the moment and for a brief time period I was considering applying to study there for the 10 week Fashion Certificate, but then I saw the prices. Absolutely shocking.
They're asking you to pay the full cost for the courses up front... not sure if they're having a laugh or not? Student Finance UK won't help people fund courses at CNC, either, so there really is no hope. They also don't offer accommodation which is another disappointment — I know that the college hasn't even opened yet, but it's in London and I imagine many people who want to apply won't have digs there — it just seems that they've gone into this whole thing way too quickly and haven't actually considered the fact that most people can't afford to pay £6000 for a 10 week course.
University tuition fees are £9000 a year... £6000 for 10 weeks just isn't on at all.
I just hope that the people who can afford the fees are successful in buying their way into the fashion industry and aren't throwing up to £19,650 down the drain.
I'd pick UAL any day, anyway. As Belle Princess stated, at least they have connections and a reputation for producing talent.

I would like to participate a short course on fashion photography this summer, not a whole summer school, but a few days to one week long.
I have London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins in mind, but any college in London would be fine if the course is well worth the money.
I would also like to know if there are any possibilities for getting some sort of co-funding/small internship as a EU student? I would go after I graduate from Academy of art and design (this will be in April if it goes as planned).

Any feedback or recommendations for me to take into consideration would be really helpful. :flower:

I can't decide what to study. I stuck between styling and footwear design. Any way, i want to ask about UCA. Is it good ? I find Fashion Promotion & Imaging courses here. Does anyone took those courses and can explain me what is it about ?
One more question - what does it mean "BA (Hons)" ?

I know nothing about the school .... but I would say that "BA(hons)" means Bachelor of Art (honours) This would be the name of the 4 year degree (you can also get a Bachelor of Science, and so on, depending on what you are studying) and "honours" usually means that a person has completed a degree with very high grades, as opposed to just passing with average grades.

The '(Hons)' usually refers to the dissertation aspect of the degree. For example, I have a BA (Hons) in English Literature, but my friend who was unable to complete the dissertation element of the same course has a BA.

Thank you ..... a bit different in the UK, I see. Glad you could clarify it.
