London & United Kingdom Schools ... for Fashion

Hejsa..

I am not studying there no, but I did get an offer to start in september 2006. I will probably study International Relations & Economics. Again, I am not sure about media studies, but you can check it out at the ucas site. www.ucas.com.

When are you suppose to start your studies.?

Do you know Swedish? :)

I was thinking about International Relations and Economics too, media studies doesn't seem that serious. It's so hard to decide! I didn't apply for 2006 but I will probably apply for 2007. It's difficult to know how good my grades are compared to the british system so it's hard to know where I have a chance to get in. I was thinking about Kings college too. May I ask you where you will study?

And thanks, I will check out the ucas site! :flower:

I'm considering to apply at London Metropolitan...do you think it's good?? (subjects: creative writing, journalism, fine art - photography, film/theatre studies)

Here's some info for everyone who needs public, and inside information on different universities around the UK. :)

1.www.ucas.com

2.www.thestudentroom.co.uk

This was very useful to me when I was applying to uni's. It's a student based forum, so there's the oppertunity to ask current students questions. There's an abundance of knowledge there, so i'm sure everyone can find what they are looking for.

Good luck to everyone ! :flower:

wow, great! thank you very much!! :flower:

Im at London Metropolitan. Its okay but there are better ones around!

Westminster, UCL, Kings, Royal Holloway - these r a few top raters. London Met is just sooooo disorganised, i was really appalled at first but now im getting used to their blase approach, though i still feel its a bit unacceptable

I went to an education fair on friday, in Vienna. and there were some ppl from London Met...from what I heard it sounds pretty good. but it's always different when you're really a student there. thanx for the insider info! I'll check out your suggestions! :flower:

My university offers study abroad to Queen Mary. I feel quite dumb when I visit "the student room" 'cause I can't exactly figure out all the lingo  . I'm assuming its not the best school, but is atleast OK?

It has one of the best divisions in Theoretical Physics in the world. If you don't want to go there you can always apply to any other university in the UK through SOCRATES or whatever the US equivalent is though... can't you?

ahh, I guess I shouldn't make assumptions! However I am a philosophy, lit. major.. I'm hoping to go to London for a whole year (2008), but I probably can't afford it... so probably half a year.

and thank you for your help PoC!

Ok guys I need help. I really want to move to London bc I am just itching to make a change. I visited the city once and fell in love with the historic buildings and leisurely atmosphere. So I would like to transfer to a college there, but I have no idea which ones are good and which are not. Currently I have a 3.6 gpa (which I think is like an A-) but I will have to be price conscious. Also, I'm american so I don't know if that will hurt or help my chances. Oh and one last thing, I would probably study International Relations or something with languages because I speak French and Spanish. Thanks in advance!

With a GPA like that, I would recommend UCL (where I went!) or LSE... though LSE is v. pricey for overseas students. You would expect to pay around £10,000 a year for an undergraduate course. King's College is also quite good. Being American won't hurt your chances at all! There were tons of American transfer students in my course (I did history). How many semesters are you planning on doing?

I studied at Queen Mary during the spring semester last year . . . overall I had a good experience but I would recommend choosing a school in Central London instead (QMUL is in the East End), especially if you are trying to be conscious of finances--I had to take the tube everywhere which got to be really expensive even with oyster cards and student discounts.

PM me if you have any specific questions, I'll be glad to talk to you about it! :flower:

Istituto Marangoni London.

Hi everyone:D

I'm looking into doing a one year fashion design course at Instituto Marangoni in London.

Is anyone studying this course currently?

I need advice and loads of tips as to how to go about this whole thing, the website is not really specific as to what degree you gain at the end of the one year course. What is the course like itself? and I guess I'm also interested in what the students/campus is like.

Please, please,please.. If you've had any experience with Instituto Marangoni in London, do post here and share... I will be extremely gratefull.

Thanks soo much in advance.
