has anyone taken any short courses at CSM? i'm from the US and am interested in taking fashion journalism classes.
Not quite what you're asking but I've done a short course at LCF. I took a Fashion Buying & Merchandising intensive week-long course. I know they do a similar fashion journalism one, I just remember being very intimidated by the fashionistas on it! The course I did was fantastic, expensive, but worth every penny, I'm planning to do another in my Easter holidays. My tutor was great and really knew his stuff, we managed to fit so much in. As you'll be coming from the US I hope you can find someone who took fashion journalism, just to reasure you before you spend all that money!
Kytila do you know anything about the fashion Business courses at LCf, I rally want to apply to do a Diploma in fashion business.
I attend the same college as those doing business, most people at lcf not doing 'design' but doing all the written / pr / business part are at the west end campuses.
My friend veronica is doing business, she says its good, but for the most part she has spent a lot of her time doing work experience as opposed to class time, they do well in terms of sorting out internships for you. So if you were positive that is what you wanted to do, i'll say go for it...
Someone posted a link to arts.ac.uk ... i dont know if the person is in the uk or not, but the university of that arts is made up of a few different universities including lcf and csm... so you get the same standard of education at all of them, a lot of the classes are thought by the same tutors.
ALSO.
IF you were only doing a diploma for one year then its worth it, but if you are doing it for three years.. ill be positive first. I pay international fees for example, and its a b*tch.
I'm an American student and I really want to study fashion in England next year..
Any one have anything to say about any of the following schools for fashion design in england?
Any any any information would be great...
- Kingston University-
- University of Wesminster-
- University of Leeds-
- Bournemouth University-
- Northumbria University-
also.. any recommendations for schools for the art foundation (because I think it may be required to take that before entering straight into fashion at any of these universites... correct me if I'm wrong, please)
Thanks!
I've applied to LCF for Fashion Management, and I have an over-the-phone Interview with them tomorrow morning.
How long did you have to wait for them to contact you?
I hope it went well
Well I sent in my application in November, and they contacted me a few weeks later for an interview which was in January. I had another interview with them this morning and yes, it did go well... I got in!![]()
