Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

i've actually seen abit result on my skin when only drinkin the tea with honey (i don't have lemon ) for 3 days!

Ok so today i will try the aspirin mask. And you got me thinking about the warm water with lemon/honey....

We will see.

Rooibos tea is good to drink, and also I believe you can use the cold teabags on your skin to perk it up...although don't quote me on that

rooibos tea is fantastic! many antioxidants in there..also drink organic teas, if they have chemicals in them they wont do their full job

I just used Weleda Calendula Baby Facial Cream and it brought my skin back to life after all this cold weather has been drying it out...it feels really nice after you cleanse and of course its really gentle because its made from all natural products...definitely a glow/radiance booster!

I tend to lean either to the "available through the dermatologist" route or the very hippie-natural route.

Retin-A or Renova (retinoids available via precription only) produce marked results but I am reserving those methods for an age closer to 40. Right now at 34 I go for the very natural approach:
1.water
2.exercise
3. good diet with lots of leafy veggies/carrots
4 sleep/no smoking/moderate drinking

as for topical items:
Sunscreen containing Mexoryl 45
amla powder (acidic natural husk) mixed with water for a scrub - face mask
coconut oil as moisturiser (cheap and great in small amounts on hair ends too)

the Vanity in me is really curious about medium depth chemical peels and Prescription retinoids.

Healthy food, Omega 3 (salmon), water, sleep, excercise do the trick.
Though some people just have naturally flawless skin (Tiu,Julia Stegner,...) and some (me) have to work hard for it.

Can I revive this thread? :flower: I have a couple suggestions/topics of discussion.

Internal:

Red tea. It has all the benefits of green tea without the caffeine (it is naturally caffeine-free).

Flaxseed oil & butternuts (or walnuts). According to nutritiondata.com, these are the nuts and seeds with the highest levels of omega-3's, which are great for your skin. Flaxseed oil may also help with imbalanced hormone levels.

Water with lemon. This is a given but it's still worth mentioning.

The thing about internal solutions is that you have to be CONSISTENT and you have to give it TIME. Most people are too antsy to see results from lifestyle/diet changes. Patience is key.

External:

Sea salt mask. I'm sure it's been mentioned here before. I used it pretty often back when my skin was really problematic and it is great. Naturally antiseptic. Make sure you use organic sea salt.

I'd love to keep this thread going, there are lots of useful tips in here

Thank you for the tips!! I am a major red tea drink  which makes it diffcuilt cause it fires back at me cause it slows my bowl movement...
i think everything in moderation is great...
I'd like to add grape juice is an excellent source for antioxandints as well.

my mum drinks a warm glass of water with a spoon of honey and lemon juice in the morning, its a habit she has since her teens...having said that she has amazing skin, i'm trying to make it a habit but i need my caffenie when i wake up:lol:

Got two large liters of it today! ^_^ Drinking it in a.m. and at night after a ton of water, and especially good after doing a peel or something exfoliating, drink plenty of water and the antioxidants and bioflavonoids are wonderful from the grape juice.

I think for me to have the glowing skin look, (Topical-wise, as far as skincare) some type of glycolic regularly after cleansing, and a good hydrating cream finished with this Silk Plus Regenerating Facial Fluid from Biologique-Recherche, (I did this today) my skin is really glowing!

 sorry The_Ida your comment made me laugh in a cute way!!!
on another note, my sister is into organic foods etc..so she decided to do the egg mask, she used farm eggs...she cracked one and it had blood and a semi formation of a chick...its safe to say since that day she stopped eating eggs or even putting eggs on her face...

Your my Hero!!! i swear grape juice does wonders to the skin!!! people stop me and ask me if i have make up on my face ( and i dont)..we should also look into our food and drinks...LetThemEatCake, again you never cease to amuse me!!B)

So I went and got grape juice...dare you letthemeatcake, if I don't look like a supermodel tomorrow ;-))

It's not very likely at all that someone could get salmonella from either part of the egg on the face. Salmonella come from the shell and that's more likely from eating it.

I want to know the science behind using egg on the skin?
