Luminous, Glowy and Healthy Skin

I am going to see if there is a hot water machine at college tomorrow so I can have green tea there.

thanks, michyed! i didn't know that about the benefit of squeezing lemons into green tea.

how much lemon should one squeeze into a cup of white tea?
i squeezed less than a half and  it's SO sour

I know! the few places I read said to use half a lemon, but it's a bit hard to drink. :ermm:

It seems a lot of ladies here drink green tea, which is awesome. However I've been curious as to what type of tea you usually drink? Is it bagged tea or actual natural leaves? And how much do you typically drink per day?

I used to drink bagged tea and I found that it dried out my pores after some time. Now I ONLY drink natural jasmine green tea.. Excellent tea.. Has a rosey smell and really hits the spot. 2-3 times a day:D

sill, half a lemon may be too much if you're only drinking a cup of tea! If you increase your amount then half a lemon will taste lovely!

AllBusiness, I don't think I've ever tried the bagged teas! There is a 7-11 a block away from my house, and they sell "fresh" green tea that comes from the actual leaves. I drink at least a litre a day! What about you? Btw I have to agree, natural green tea tastes a lot better too! ^_^

I strongly recommend that its best to stay away from tea bags since they lack the "natural" essence of the tea itself. I'm glad to hear that your local 7-11 provides leaved tea, not too many (if not any in my area) actually do that.

If you want to experience the true nature of tea, I suggest all of you (if you haven't already started) purchase natural tea leaves from a retail tea outlet (teaopia is a good example).

As for my consumption of tea, I drink 2-3 glasses a day. One in the morning, and two in the evening (one after dinner, one before bed). Natural tea leaves are more essential in terms of helping to improve intestinal functions and overall well being (mind, body and spirit).:D

^It's probably cause we have the 2nd most 7-11s in the world here. Since green tea is so popular here, I guess they want to meet the demands. Ah and you hit it spot on! There's actually an entire tea thread in this forum... You should join in the discussion :D

No need to get snarky. We get it, you don't like raw eggs, you think everyone will get salmonella from them. I just think if people want to use it as a mask, let them, instead of jumping down their throats.
Thanks for sticking up for me Sav ..each to their own. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion but gosh I had no idea my post would start this much drama..dont think I will be back in this thread for while... :flower:

A lot of people actually do get salmonella. Some of them die from it. It is worse in Scandinavia (esp Sweden and Denmark, that's my impression at least), but even children know not to touch or eat raw eggs. That's just plain dumb.

I don't think Sweden has that much problem with salmonella.. I know Denmark has had a lot of salmonella though..

I'll put a lot less lemon next time I try it  Would one squeeze be enough for one cup of tea?

^Just use trial-and-error until it tastes just right! I'm sure you could put more than one squeeze without the tea getting bitter though!

About salmonella none the less! Who argues about that? :P

With regards to the whole lemon thing...i find the best thing to do is use ALL the lemon, not just the juice! So for example i'll slice up half a lemon, put the slices in a mug then pour boiling water over the slices. Often i'll throw in some green tea as well and brew it along with 'brewing' the lemon. The flavor isn't nearly as sour as if i'd used half a lemon's worth of juice, but you get all the benefits! Plus i think it's a nicer flavor as you get the added benefit of the zest along with it.

Oh I went and bought bagged green tea today and now you say get leaves! haha. I don't think I have seen it as leaves. I will keep an eye out.

have you guys heard of matcha tea?

its the actual leaves grinded into powder and its much more potent since your consuming the actual leaves.

amazinggrace, thank you for the suggestion! I shall get over my lemon slicing phobia and do as you say :P

^and oh yes, I drink warm matcha + milk often. It tastes delicious! The health benefits are the same, just more concentrated!

I'd love to get my hands on some Matcha. Where can I get in the UK?

starbucks uses the matcha powder in their green tea latte and green tea frappucino.

^and if you don't want the milk/sugar/ice part, you can buy the matcha powder seperately (at least I remember in Japan you can :P)

Drinking some organic grape juice right now. Its kind of hard for me to believe that I'm getting any amazing benefits from it because it's so sugary!

I'm going to have to try this green tea again sometime...my mother had me try some a while back, and I think I liked it well enough.

A couple weeks ago, I noticed that my skin was looking better than ever. At first I thought it was from the Juice organic skin-care line I have been using, but then I remembered that I have been drinking A LOT of protein shakes that I make at home that include almond milk, almond butter, and bananas. Yumm
