Marni for H&M

^ well that's reassuring from a customers perspective.

Maybe I didnt explain my point very clearly. I simply meant they could keep it as an H&M collection (ie no branding from high end designers) but use the high end designers design team. So it's H&M clothing for the masses but with a certain 'look' be it versace/marni. But I guess that wouldn't draw in the masses as much - and ultimately they wouldnt be making as much money.

I know what I mean even if im not being very eloquent.

I'll be putting my boxing gloves on and fight my way through the pair of silver sandals that's meant to be mine! :boxer:

From a business standpoint, it doesn't make sense to just use a design team but not market the line as designer when that's the biggest, if not only, draw of a collaboration.

Also, honeycombchild, I'm glad to hear input from somebody who's studied production. People often get a placebo effect thinking every thing's great because they equate quality with the brand it says on the tag.

I too, agree that the Lanvin collection is one of the best made and proves that a designer has say on quality control. Perhaps Lanvin put in more of the budget in the quality of the clothes rather than marketing unlike Versace.

The Marni collection is also doing a quieter marketing so I'm curious how the quality will turn out.

Sneak Peek: More Marni for H&M

A reader tipped us off to an editorial in this month’s Vogue Russia featuring a whole lotta Marni for H&M. The collection doesn’t hit stores in the US until March 8, and so far the hype for the collection hasn’t reached the same level it did for Versace for H&M–but it’s still early. We saw an ad for the collection last week featuring ‘it-girl’ actress Imogen Poots and according to Vogue UK, the full campaign hits February 8. But based on what we’ve seen in this Vogue Russia spread, shot by Robert Wyatt and styled by Kimi O’Neill, a frenzy will surely ensue–especially for that color-blocked orange PVC top, those hot pink shorts, and those awesome statement accessories.

I love Marni too, and I am very excited about this collaboration. I wasn't interested at all by Versace, which wasn't good IMO (and some things were hideous). But this, this is the real deal.
I already love some of the clothes, and they look really good on this Vogue Russia editorial. Can't wait to see more of this. So excited.

It's so unappealing, I love it.. 100% of my attention on the sandals.

*staring at Kite as tension intensifies*

I like what I'm seeing but the jumper is 70€? Are you kidding?

I was thinking the same thing about the bag :( The menswear is nice, but looks a bit pricey I'm hoping that there are some outerwear pieces for men, otherwise I'll just get the polka dot coat from women's in my size

The bag is pleather. Marni or not, that's going to crack in a year. I only like the beige sleeved shirt and printed shirt but still nothing exciting enough to buy.

After a friend of mine who had a pretty shiz experience with the choo x H&M duffle. I think this pleather one may be a better bet. Still I need to see more, only the button ups and the bag is doing it for me. The men mannequins and the crazy hats are looking much fresher.

My Scan

For some reason the thumbnail wont work...so apologies for that!

Also the film is view-able from tomorrow on the H&M site.

^Thanks for the scan :flower:

The necklaces are lovely and I'm loving that leather teeshirt, might get it for myself :ninja: ! I really hope it's leather though, because they'd be quite shameless to charge so much for a pleather H&M tee!

thanks again for the scans honeycombchild!

so the brocade shiny foil like outfit is pajamas? i was wondering previously why it had an elastic waist band - that may explain it.

i've actually been looking for a cool pair of pajamas...:ninja:

Here's an image from the men's lookbook. The jacket looks like it's going to have to find a space in my wardrobe.
