Marni for H&M

^thanks honeycombchild for all the scans!

so far there are quite a few pieces i would love to have in my wardrobe. i probably should start to save some extra money :p

My Snap

The girl on the left hand side is also wearing cute grey knee high socks but my bad photography missed them off.. ha.

i have to admit i was skeptical of this collaboration at first - now i'm really starting to like a few objects. :ninja:

the silver flats and heels are looking like "musts". hopefully they wont be the "musts" of everyone else...

the dotted harem pants still look like clown pants however.

and the fact that there is still thousands of versace for H&M items on ebay for semi-close to retail price might mean the prices for marni items might be driven down on ebay. at least i hope...

gosh, i hope it'll be more relaxed than the Holiday designer collections, cause i really want to see that white flower necklace up close but don't feel like standing in line for ages...

wow such a nice commercial. much better than the normal H&M collaboration commercials I would say. No more; meteors falling to Earth, copycat dolls, or etc etc.

That's quite lovely, but I wish they showed a bit more of the menswear.

i haven't been paying a whole lot of attention to the H&M collabs...but the prices seem kinda high to me...i mean i can get regular mainline on ebay for the same price. is this collab priced higher than others?

^prices get higher with each collaboration, it seems. I want 2 of the dresses and that printed trenchcoat really badly, I think I might try my luck on ebay this time....

I don't think that's fair to say they get higher each time. Cavali was probably the most expensive, Lanvin came in cheaper all round. Mostly prices have stayed about the same though really when you actually look at it. Coats and jackets have had a fairly consistent price across the lot of them, as have tops and blouses. It's only really the dresses that shift much price wise between collections.

Loved the commercial .. that's what Sofia's made for, short cute narratives like that meant to sell faces, lifestyle and clothes.. not movies.

The commercial is so, so beautiful. It makes the clothes look really good.
Who is the "main" guy?

I need the shirts and bag but the idea of lining up for it is not particularly appealing.
I think the idea that a bigger marketing budget equals a lower quality collection is interesting. The Versace collection was definitely hyped up although I do think that Lanvin had an equal amount if not similar market exposure.

I don't think Lanvin was as extravagant as Versace. They did more viral marketing with the youtube clips and the blogger contest. It was also smart to wait 2 weeks before revealing any thing from the collection. That amped up impulse buys.

More than any thing, this is a collaboration and clearly the designer and their team have a big input on every thing including quality of the clothes.
