Miu Miu F/W 08.09 : Vanessa Paradis by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot

it actually looks quite nice to me,,love the make up there..

and they really do make a VP on her outfit.:innocent:

Campaign is even worse than the collection! (judging by this shot anyway) How is that even possible?

I was expecting a lot more, but I reserve full judgment for when i see the whole campaign... This is nice I guess though... Vanessa looks Karen Elson-ish here!

Vanessa looks beautiful but I hate the colors and the bag.

Stiff is a good word, La bordélique. And the colors make me sick just to look at.

I think they turned up the fan a bit too much, it looks as if her head is about to fly away
Hopefully the rest will turn out better.

i wouldn't like this campaign as much as i do if vanessa weren't in it. her face is amazing, she looks great, but the ad itself is just ok, same old mert & marcus aesthetic, very louis vuitton, which i generally don't like. and i have to say, she's a great 'model', very versatile. i can imagine her doing many campaigns for very different designers, i think she can easily transform herself to suit different brands.

A New Miuse

Vanessa Paradis revealed for fall campaign
Monday, June 23, 2008

(NEW YORK) Described as "yet another interpretation of the Miu Miu woman," the Milan-based fashion house today unveiled its Fall 2008 campaign starring Vanessa Paradis.

Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Los Angeles, the 35-year-old singer and paramour of Johnny Depp was chosen by Miuccia Prada because she casts a "certain powerful independence." In the shot pictured here, Paradis is shot clad in a monogrammed superhero-esque top, carrying an embossed leather bag.

For fall, Miu Miu branched off into sportier territory, and Paradis captures "the overlapping qualities of fragility and feminine strength" that lies in stark comparison to the darker mood portrayed by Kirsten Dunst in the current spring campaign.

"The impact and drama of the images continue the enduring dialogue of Mrs. Prada, a conversation concerning the subject of womanhood in our times," the company said in a statement. "At once a deconstruction and a pure visual composition, the campaign addresses the exploration of beauty in conjunction with intellect, imagination and divergence."

Vey Guy Burdin style the photo and very Louis Vuitton the concepr is boring and repetitive no see nothing good ans new in tyhis campaing one more

she is very beautiful but she looks so stiff, like she hurt her neck or something. i can't get the kirsten dunst ad out of my mind, now that one was flawless

They did the initial letters on the clothes! That's very interesting.
I need to see more to judge.
