Model Behavior (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

The more I see these pics, the worse they become.
Just awful and as I said in Candice's thread, it's all very p*rn star convention.
Was wishing I'd never seen them.

Excuse me for being really late to this party, but which pictures are you talking about?

Lais Ribeiro about the relationship betwen brazilian models and russian models:

"... The same can not be said of fellow russians, that the brazilians don't cultivate much sympathy as Lais account. "You know, i'm sincere and I will not deny it: we do not like them. We brazilians think of work as fun as well. And they are always too serious or fawning important people backstage... "

I don't know about y'all but i can totally see that going on... :innocent:

Haven't worked with any Brazillian models yet, but have worked with two Russian models, and they both rocked shoots that were pains in the a** without thinking twice about it..while two models who are both American got their diva on & bailed on photoshoots that weren't easy enough for them.

Haha the Brazilian/Russian rivalry doesn't surprise me  The Russians seem to stick together always talking/gossiping backstage, the older ones taking the new girls under their wings haha. But I think it is just the personality of the Russians. Take Anna S for example ;)
Let's also not forget that the invasion of the Brazilians and the Russians in the industry were quite close together in time and I'm sure the groups have felt threatened by the other at times when trends change etc. The sexiness of the Brazilian girls vs the eastern european beauty of the Russians.

Let's also remember that Brazil is a country of relative opulence where as the same cannot be said for many of the Eastern European countries models often hail from. I can see why the Europeans might take their jobs more seriously than the Brazilians do given the different socio-economic climates the two groups come from.

^ Yes, absolutely. For many (not all) of the models that come from Eastern Europe modeling for "fun" isn't really an option for them. They probably feel the pressures of the industry more because of what they have come from, which is understandable.

^^There are so many incredibly poor people in Brazil though, despite the 'country's' wealth. The divide between the two (the rich and poor) is extreme, and I am sure there are some Brazilian models out there who are/were sending their $$ back home.

^That's very true. And i can say that almost all brazilian models come from very small and poor citys, like Gisele for example. I think this comes from the personality of the people, we brazilian have the tendence to be more uplifting and happy even when we're on a bad situation. And i feel like the russians have the tendence of being more cold and serious.

i think the rivality is not only with Brazilians.. i remember Rianne ten Haken writing on her official facebook page, before fashion week, something like: i'm arriving and i wanna kick your *** Russians!

That is true. I mean it's no secret that southern people usually have more temperament and are more outgoing in general because it's their mentality, while northern and eastern folks are considered to be more serious and reserved (at first).
But as someone mentioned here already, I very often see russian models only hanging out together at backstages, often they build these small, private groups. I mean I can understand they want to communicate with people from their origin, but maybe some seal off too much and it's distracting for some other models.

I love Brazilian people. They are extremely sweet and generous.
I happen to know a few, and yes, they stick together and they all have each others backs.

one thing i want to add is the rivalry between brazilian models vs. russians has been present for a while.

you guys remembered the April issue of Vanity Fair when Euguenia Volodina
said,
“We have beautiful skin, beautiful faces, and the Brazilians are finished,”
i feel like that statement started war between both.

i'm sure we've all have not forgotten what happened to karolina kurkova when
she walked during Sao Paulo Week. The media attacked her you know what.

read story: Will Karolina Kurkova Love Brazil As Much After This?
