Model Casting F/W 2018.19

^ Felt random to me. It's not like they were his muses or anything, but I still enjoyed it.

Who are the top male walkers this season?

^ Finnlay Davis, Kohei, Dylan Fender, Myles Domanique, Alpha Dia, Bom Chan seem to be everywhere.

How have we not mentioned Oscar Kindelan when talking about runways. He opened the Brooks Brothers show. One of the few male models who did VERSUS runway + lookbook + ecommerce and has now transitioned to walking for Versace. Recently just OPENED AND CLOSED Hermes. Has walked Prada SIX TIMES IN A ROW all the way from SS16 to FW18. Walked for Berluti, came back for Louis Vuitton Final Kim Jones show 'cause he walked before and is considered a favorite. He did Tommy Hilfiger look books FOR THE WHOLE YEAR last season and walked for the Rock Star show.

And how could we forget the alternative go-to model Willow Barrett. Ann Demeulemeester 4 times in a row + ecommerce, Dries van Noten 5 times in a row. Valentino for the first time (keep in mind he started out at around the same time as Finnlay Davis and Finnlay has stopped doing Valentino for idk what reason), Lemaire for the 4th time in a row. Neil Barrett for the 4th time in a row the only model to campaign for diffusion line Blackbarrett AND mainline Neil Barrett which is a feat that goes unnoticed (to campaign for diffusion+main). Diesel Black Gold. No Fendi this season but has done FENDI for 2 seasons before. Coach for the first time last season. He's slowly breaking into the more mainstream brands.

The new model at Brooks, Camiel van Wersch. He is basically everywhere I'm lazy to list out all of them. Dior Homme, FENDI, Off-White, Prada, Louis Vuitton just to name a few.

The new model at Bro, Serge Sergeev. Same as Camiel up there and more. More models at Bro: Adrian Stene, Karlis Leiboms, Lorens Miklasevics (yes that buzzcut guy from last year's GUCCI ads with the fake tattoos) all of them are runway powerhouses although Lorens is a bit slow. walked Thom Browne and LANVIN.

Kohei Takabatake is just amazing. For a new model to walk Raf Simons, Bottega, Tommy, Dolce, Balmain is just unheard of. Walks Coach once BAM CAMPAIGN. Walks JW Anderson once, BAM JW ANDERSON UNIQLO campaign. How did he miss breakout on models.com? Oh yeah cause that was irrelevant and downright favoritism. (Breakout nominees weren't that bad actually except for P____ G____ but male model of the year nominees? That list is foul and horrid and should never be replicated EVER.)

Dior was lovely, finally Kris out of that Prada lock. lol

Liu Wen at Schiparelli was a nice surprise! Looks as good as ever.

Way to go, Kohei! Does anyone know if where was ever an Asian male model that was the top walker?
The cast at Schiparelli couture was really diverse, Anita Bitton did a pretty good job. She also casted Giambattista Valli.

Bitton casted Giambattista Valli? That's new, isnt it?
I'm pretty sure they used to have a different CD... Can't remember who that is tho.
The cast did not look like a Anitta's cast at all. I would have never guessed. It was basically the same GV is used to.

^Maria Giulia Azario used to cast Valli.

Kinda disappointed that Faretta is skipping couture week
Anyway can we shout out a HUGE RIP at Kendall's career? This is the first time she has skipped (aka not being called) a Chanel Couture show since she started her "modelling" career back in 2014. If Karl is not gonna support her anymore she'll be forced to do C-list shows (Dsquared), some New York and Fendi.
Also Gigi and Bella are not doing great either. Gigi's couture also RIP since Atelier Versace not hosting shows anymore. Bella's only supported by Vauthier, who's slightly better than a C-list but still nothing compared to Chanel
So happy that Karl is supporting gorgeous girls again (Luna, Vittoria, Kaia, Grace) and going out from the quirky-weirdo-nepotism phase (Molly Bair and instas mostly). I think that Grace is turning into a Chanel exclusive, last season she only walked (closed) for Chanel in Paris (and also got the press lookbook), same this couture season

AGREED! Luna, Vittoria, Kaia, Grace, etc. actually have talent!! So it's great to see them getting support from the most important players in the industry. And I have nothing against the Insta-girls but they are super boring with most of their work, so I'm content with their current absence from the couture shows. :D

At the end of the day, it's about bounding a relationship with designers.
You know that Karl is really about his "girl of the moment" thing. Kendall and the Hadid are not really "of the moment" anymore. Kaia is.

As for Luna, it's clear that she has created a good relationship with the Chanel team. She has been the face of everything fashion related this year. Vittoria has a Chanel beauty contract and a Fendi campaign...etc.

I'm bit surprised by the fact that Immaan wasn't there.

Aurelie Duclos does the casting but i would expect from beauty ambassadors to be in the show.

Good to see Mica.

Maison Margiela was cast by Shaun Beyen

There were only 5 models of color at the show. All Margiela shows have been cast by him since Galliano's debut, and he never casts more than 5 models of color per show, at every single show they basically have always done this formula 2 black models and 2 asian models.
