Model Casting S/S 14

^^^A gimmick? That's silly. Riccardo's casts have been consistent in terms of diversity and expanded further this season likely on account of the collection's HEAVY African, Indian/south east Asian influence - it's directional, not gimmicky.

The cast was nearly all black/mixed and in this period of discussions about racism it does feel gimmicky. But then again, his casts are always gimmicky.

Like I said, I applaud diversity (even though there were no Chinese/Japanese/Korean models), but this is not how I would have done it myself. Not to mention some models (Edie....) don't fit Givenchy at all.

In fact I think it's one of the best of the season together with Rykiel, DvF and JPG. If I have to pinpoint one flaw it would be Ashleigh Good, she did not fit the story here..

I vaguely remember, possibly in her namesake thread that she was sick which is why she wasn't in NY. Potentially the reason why she's been MIA in Paris, but I hope she's well.

It's not just Ashleigh, Magdalena Jasek and Edie didn't fit in at Givenchy either, imo. Someone like Mijo or Marine would have been better there. Too bad Enyelisa isn't available yet

I was so exciting when I saw her post on Instagram. I think Louis Vuitton is the most possible one.

I don't really get the JLT hate. She has a classic look and looks serene on the runway.

I don't either. She's actually one of the newbies I like seeing on the runway. She just looks 'chic'.

On the other hand, I'm done with Katiln Aas. I didn't care for her comeback to begin with but now I'm beyond sick of seeing her everywhere.
