I think I'll put Citizen Kane as overrated...I've never seen it but, any movie where it's raved about endlessly is automatically put on the overrated list.

The Usual Suspects. O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D. (Although Kevin Spacey was great in it.)

Garden State. Blech. Tried way too hard to be clever and quirky...and failed. It was so annoyingly pretentious.

Donnie Darko. See above.

Run Lola Run. Liked it the first time I saw it, but this so does not deserve to be in imdb's top 250.

Oh yes, I definetily agree. Most of those movies are there because of these "movie nerds" ie young men whose appreciation involves a lot of computerized effects on films and whose knowledge of the history of cinema starts from mid-70s early 80s. It's sad.

Crash...not a bad movie. But best picture of the year? No....not even close and I found it pretencious at some points

Citizen Kane was great by modern standards, I'm sure it was MINDBLOWING when it first came out! Fabulous movie

I really like it...I can't figure out why tho.

But I the song Mad World in it. Even though is it's really depressing. But the video is gorgeous:



The Tear for Fears version is HILARIOUS.

Crash--i'm sure many will disagree but i thought it was one of the most overrated movies of all time and its a shame that something so primitively preaching and self-indlging would ever win an oscar. the moral and the way they portrayed it was too shove-down-the-throat obvious and lacked any kind of subtlety whatsoever. it was not a movie that would truly make people relate more to one another but rather a movie that would make people feel sorry for themselves and ignite even more intolerance. just hated hated hated it.
