Thanks for the review & the heads up on the foldout ad, nogoodforme! My scanner isn't behaving right now, but I'll try to get the scans up ASAP.
I'm also surprised that this is being released on a Sunday and the launch does seem to be put together a little strangely.
I agree that you'd think that Target or any business would want to create a frenzy and sell everything out, but many people were mad that some items were almost immediately sold out in the Proenza Schouler collection (i.e. the bustiers and the green palm print dresses). Even some Target workers have admitted to me and other tFSers that they only saw the bustiers in returns and that they never got their shipments. I also don't think that's very good for business either, and these kinds of things happen all the time in limited edition items/collections.
It also seems like Target's main objective is to create a buzz as opposed to making a profit anyway, especially since they don't mind that eBay sellers made a huge profit by selling items like the bustiers for $200+ on eBay when Target was selling them for $34.99:
I really want some of the pieces, but I think that I'm going to check them out in person before I buy them online.

As Meg said, finding a balance between a low profile and a frenzy is probably best.Target, H&M and the other stores don't seem to mind because the guest-designer programs are aimed more at generating buzz than sales volume. Target doesn't limit the amount of designer merchandise a shopper can buy, because its goal is to make high fashion accessible to a broad audience, spokeswoman Amy von Walter says.
H&M also says it's making high fashion more accessible and allows people to buy as much as they want. H&M said in a statement: "While we prefer buying and selling to take place in our H&M stores, there are no laws preventing private individuals from trading on the Internet."
