Prada F/W 08.09 Milan

I'm really liking it, I just hope she makes those sunglasses in a more masculine fashion cause I really want a pair

Ps I loved the bright orange lace pieces

Whenever I see a Prada collection I feel like I'm in a Luchino Visconti or Vittorio DeSica post-war movie or in a funeral. I didn't use to feel like that. It looks sadder than ever.

Those shoes are like a portrait of Nicolas Kirkwood and Terry De Havilland's love child painted by Salvadore Dali.

I have to admit, as much as I hate the majority of the lace pieces, that rear shot of the lace panel on the a$$ of the skirt is right up my alley. Too bad it wont be sold as is.

It's the sexiest thing I've seen on a runway for a while. It's so austere, and then that lovely rear view :heart:

I also like those boots.

I like it, hopefully this grows on me more the 3rd time I lounge around the pictures.

Is this collection supposed to be sexual? Well, I guess it is considering that skirt with with the booty lace. Speaking of lace, why is so much of it here? It's so stiff & unflattering and... tacky. These outfits just look like things you would find in your great-great grandmother's attic that smell like mothballs. Such a letdown after last season.

wowowowowowow.....grandmachic:shock:....i'm wondering how stylist style them.......esp carine...:ninja::lol:

this is exactly where f/w 08 is going. "grandmother chic" is everywhere in new york and milan.

*i'm not sure if i'm feelin the love for this collection.

Apart from the convoluted accessories, and some of the initial black dresses that I found pretentious, I really like a lot of the lace looks. I'd like to see more detail shots.

BOUDICCA!!!! oh my i hadn't realised that element(shockingly)but it's indeed very obvious. the structural elements, the high necks, shirting, the shoes, the heavy use of the lace even the severely pulled back hair concept....

really this woman is getting ridiculous. last season was the tsumori chisato rip-off now boudicca..... she should give all of these designers she copies from the millions of dollars this sickening house makes for stealing all of their ideas and aesthetics. it's getting out of hand....just pathetic. i cannot believe no one in the media is even bringing this up. it's a crying shame they are so blind to their disillusioned faith.

i really hope zowie and brian sees this and notices the blatantcy of it.

This is for sure a treat for the eyes.. i love it all except the shoes....Nooooo to the shoes

this is why i love fashion
prada is just...irreplacable and pivotal to the entire fashion world. every single time miuccia shows us something, she provokes a huge reaction...even if you hate it, it is NO DOUBT the most influential collection of them all...
im not a fan of lace...but when you see a prada collection, you are looking at an art exhibition, it blurs the lines of fashion and art...and that is what i LOVE. it is emotional, layered, never been done....
i adore prada, as a designer, as a visionary, an incredible mind and as art.

My thought exactly. At first when I became interested in fashion, I was more into the practical side of it and liked the long dresses and pretty shirts that I could easily wear out. But now fashion has become something so much more precious and intriguing than that. Fashion can really redefine "beauty" and that is what gets me excited. There are so many designer collections that I don't even look at because they are SO predictable and easily digestible. But Prada is always creating and each collection is a statement on its own, without relation to what "in" at the moment or what she did last season. If it wasn't for designers like Prada, I wouldn't care about fashion so much.

My favourite is probably the black dress on Natasha!
Alot of this is way too tablecloth and curtain-y for my liking. The sheer blocked dresses remind me of this one dress from Marc Jacobs SS08. But the shoes and bags are AMAZING. I love them!

BOUDICCA!!!!
that was my first reaction when I saw the collection.
the structured pieces at the beginning mostly...

..the lace part on the other hand, which seems like the vast majority of the collection, is quite gorgeous, I think. getting past of the Boudicca and even Pieters copies, I think nobody has given lace such a priority role for quite a while.. usually treated more as a filler detail.. so I'm quite pleased to see this.

I like this collection MUCH better than last season. Especially the shoes!

Eyebrows like those of Audrey Hepburn and Sunglasses for the visually impaired How Original! :ninja:
