The H&M Thread #3

Thanks! I missed out on a bikini i REALLY wanted last year so hoping not to make that mistake again :)

I'll be honest I've never understood why people say H&M quality is bad... I've never had a single bad quality item from there. Compared with every other UK high street store in the same price range... their quality is excellent.

admittedly I've never tried any quality better than high street quality so I don't know what I'm missing, I'm aware that h&m is no rival to higher end stores quality-wise, but for the prices, it's excellent.

i don't even look at anything that's not by trend anymore the quality is that bad

do we even get Trend here in the UK? I've not seen it (but I may have completely missed it haha)

I gave up on H&M a long time ago. I have a few pieces from there that I bought at Goodwill, but I don't shop in the store itself anymore. The quality isn't what it once was, but it's not that bad, but I just really don't think a lot of the pieces are ahead of the fashion game anymore. It seems targeted at teenagers now, more than actually stylistas.

Yes, we do! But only the larger stores have it - since you're in Leicester the nearest store to you with it is Nottingham I think.

i can't agree with you more! i havent found anything really good at H&M for a long time except for the designer pieces. i still stroll through there maybe once every three weeks or so. and view the pics of their new items online.
A lot of the clothes have a watered down design. and they wrinkle easy. i'd rather by something a tad more expensive and have it keep its shape.

my store has a fair amount of the trend items. so its not like i'm stuck with a crap store.

i work in the mall and on my break i go there to look and everything just looks poorly made and the dead giveaway of the quality is the fabric they used. its itchy, thin and just cheap looking.

I haven't been to H&M in over 3 months and man, their quality is getting worse and worse. Their prices aren't the cheapest for what they are either. Primark has better stuff these days I reckon.

I used to shop at H&M (and even half a year ago) the quality was okay. These days, the tees look thin and looks as if it'll shred when you put it into the machine.

I still like the styles though but I'd rather spend my pennies at Zara these days.

just to add to my comment of h&m alienating people looking for good value and not just cheap clothes:

i usually buy trendy items that will last a season but the items are so cheap that everyone has them. that fact in combination with the item being cheap looking doesn't sell me on the product. this is why its starting to feel like h&m sells for teenagers.

H&M is aiming for tweens and teens these days.

yup, and hardly anything at H&M is appropriate for the office. the pants are so thin and not lined, they would show visible panty lines. also the pants dont have different inseams. why would i buy pants at H&M only to spend 20$ hemming them? (and i'm average height)

^The clothes are made for Scandinavians, and we are taller than, well, a lot of people. Their pants are too short for me anyway, I've only ever bought one pair.

I hate the H&M trend line. I have never ever found something nice amongst it (apart from one piece I've never worn so far...) and I'm always baffled that people on here keep praising it. It's so horribly oversized, the washed out colors and prints are terrible and the cuts look like they're made for people in their 50s and 60s. The fabrics are nothing special either. Sorry for the rant but...

this might seem weird. but i'm such a loyal h&m customer. being from sweden and all, everyone i know have since they were a baby worn h&m clothes. and it has always been good quality. not the best. but always good. so for that, im always loyal to the store. noone other high street store can compete. seriously.

but isnt that sort of "heritage-ism"?

because you've been wearing it since you were a kid you're hard wired (brain washed for some) to keep going there. Regardless of the change in quality and anything else about the brand you still like it because you're always going to be sold in the idea of loyalty.
