The Skinny Jean Scene #1

Skinny jeans aren't for all body types, it either ACCENTUATES what you have or it becomes unflattering to your shape...:flower:

that is really true... honestly even a skinny girl can look bad in skinny jeans... if she has an odd shape to her. I have one friend from home who looks TERRIBLE in skinny jeans and she's got a tiny frame

I do not care what anyone says, skinny jeans are for skinny men and women, preferably women with narrow hips, thin legs, and a thin waist a la Kate Moss. I have NEVER seen a big woman or man look good in skinny jeans.

tbh kate moss doesn't look abfab in skinnies. her legs are oddly on the thin side.

proportionality is key. and i think some hips and a narrow waist (WHR of .7, the hour glass figure) is what makes skinny jeans look really good.

most of the time for sure, but i just have an image of moss in grey jeans similar to the following that pops into my head when ppl keep gushing over how perfectly she dresses and her association with skinny jeans:

she definitely does not look horrible or anything, she actually look pretty good i suppose--but there have been better examples of bodies that really make skinny jeans work--and imo, that body frame is thin but NOT boy shaped (no hips, too skinny thighs, less defined waist).

i was just trying to counter the hit&run posts about how curvier women can't wear skinny jeans.

I absolutely love Kate Moss with skinny jeans. Hardly no other woman looks better in those IMO.
Her legs are weird. That's why I love these jeans so much on her.

I def think she can pull them off and even some curvey girls can
but i think u just have to have good proportions

One person that comes to mind that can really pull off skinny jeans, and is not skinny is Scarlett Johansson. imo

(first post yay!)

To be honest, I think men can work this style more so than women, mostly because of body shape. I see a lot of women in skinny jeans but it's rare I see a woman in skinny jeans who looks good in them. IMHO you need to be very slender and 'straight down' to pull this off - if you're a pear shape or an hourglass, skinnies are going to emphasize the shape and size of your hips and skim you all the way down, without the flattering flare to balance out the curves. But people will always follow trends, and wear what they want. Nothing wrong with personal style.

yeah, but they look way better and more slimming than bootcuts.
how do you people not see that?

This style of jean is fabulous for wearing with knee high boots. But like many others have stated, not everyone can pull this look off.

I guess it depends exactly what your idea of these body types are. I know some people who think a size 0 is the only skinny, and some think a size 8 is skinny.
It definitely works in tall boots for almost every shape, but like we have said over and over, if you go in the other pages, it is all about proportion.
I'm sick of the arguing or pointless comments. I think we should just post some pictures and just discuss the trend. It just ends up being twisted, backwards, side door comments, of different posters basically pushing anorexia.

Well, it is all about proportion but once again, it's also how it is worn too. I've seen size 14 women look wonderful in the pant with the tall boots and with a gorgeous top and or jacket/coat. However, I am a huge fan of boot cut/straight leg. But that is my taste. Everyone is different. Sorry, no pics to post right now but I'll get there.....

Yep, I would like to re-iterate that some people actually do want to emphasize that.

Maybe it's a cultural thing, but booty still reigns in my area. (Now if only people would remember that that's not lisence(sp?) to engorge yourself until your ankles are thicker than stumps)

VERY TRUE , i have seen that skinny rocker guys rock this look better than no one , with lots of girls , their hips and curves , they look like giant ice cream cones because their is no flow or leg to balance their curves , with skinny rockers guys you get the lean look more so because guys have more linear bodies .

the only girls i have seen rock skinny jeans are 2 of my asian friends , they are petite , very boyish frames , no *** , these jeans suit them well but for most girls , who are curvy , you end up looking weird unless ofcourse you tuck them into boots , in that case it looks fine but with flats and normal shoes HELL NO.

I personally love my skinny jeans, they're pretty much the only pants I wear when I have the chance, lol. I really wish that more guys in my area wore skinny jeans as well, I've only seen one other guy wearing them, besides me. I woudl agree that it's easier for men to pull of skinny jeans than women, but only if they are thin men, otherwise it's just terrible. And also, men, there's a limit to how skinny the normal man can go. I mean, I have a pair of Ksubi's that are amazingly tight, almost as tight as I'd imagine leggings would be, but I only wear them with certain outfits, there's a certain balance you need to have to rock them well, and I've seen the ones without the balance as well, and it looks horrendous. I just wish that men would try out skinny jeans, but also know when to stop/how to wear them and when to. New Year's resolutions, men?

i like them for some type of guys but i just don't want to look at any bulges- or lack of.. my eye always zeros in! can't help it! and makes me feel weird
