Thigh High / Over the Knee Boots

I found some flat faux suede thigh highs on ebay that have a stretch gusset that runs all the way along the leg. These might actually work for me, despite my irregularly sized calfs.

i can't wait until this trend goes away, in 10 years it will look like a mistake.

I would never buy Knee high boots.
If you fancy these boots only as flats! Never high heel, it looks awful.. hooker-like sorry no affence

I think there are plenty of people that can pull these off without looking the slightest hooker-ish. It all depends on how the person choose to present themselves as a whole. Shoes can only communicate a message to a certain extent...

I think Hilary looks adorable in them!

opinion that all women who wear tigh high heels loook like hookers is just silly...

Olivia Palermo looks AMAZING in her thigh highs!

michyed - couldn't agree more. i definitely think that there really is a fine line between looking sexy/edgy and just plain sl*tty, but that's defined by how you put together the rest of the outfit. i thinkt there are plenty of ways for one to wear thigh-high boots (high heeled or flat) without looking like a hooker--i wear mine (black leather ad HEELED, mind you) with black skinny jeans and a boyfriend shirt or loose tee/oversized cardigan, which i think works because the androgyny of the BF shirt or BF cardigan offsets the sexiness of the boots.

it's just frustrating having to deal with people's initial reaction to them--my best friend (who is not into fashion at all) heard me talk about my boots and asked "what do you wear with them?? .......fishnets?" haha

octopi, i second what you said. That's exactly how I wear my black suede thigh high heels, with an oversized denim or plaid shirt and/or cardigan. I also try to avoid too short skirts and dresses because that would add to the sexiness and might look cheap. But they are also fine over skinny jeans.

Isn't Olivia's also Zara? Can people who have the Zara ones confirm it?

Heidi looks awful! This is EXACTLY how you don't wear them!!

Heidi never had a sense of styling to begin with. Just terrible.

I have the Zara ones but couldn't tell from those pics if Olivia's are or not. Would have to see them from the side.

I don’t think thigh high boot is a trend that will EVER go a way! Its has always been there regardless and the reason why its soo popular is because of its sexy edge and unfortunately sex sells in this market :flower: whether its thigh high boot, tv shows, ad magazines etc..

And I certainly don’t see anything wrong with thigh high boots with high heels, low heels, flat, stretchy, suede, whatever it is I don’t see anything wrong with it, every individual customs it to their own taste, u got girls wearing it with short skirts, others with jeans and an oversized shirt…point is there is nothing wrong with it at all.

This is my personal opinion.:flower:B)

LOL...maybe it's because I'm male, but think the leather skirt with the boots looks killer. Not something to wear to work, of course, but otherwise, if someone can look that good, then why not?

I think it can look good too...just not on her.

There's a thin line between classy and trashy. I prefer flat thigh high boots to avoid the "hooker" look  But really, it depends on so many factors like the body type, quality of boots, etc.

I tend to agree! I don't think all heeled thigh highs look trashy of course, but I think a sure way to avoid it is to go with flat ones, esp. when they're paired with denim shorts or the like (just look at Heidi's, ugh!)

I don't really think this is a "now" trend - thigh high boots have always been a part of the counterculture, and a fetish item. They've been going in and out of mainstream fashion for years.

They were big in 2006, I had two pairs then sold them in 2007 and then wanted them back in 2008. Im keeping this pair!

I've been looking for a pair of thigh-high boots without a heel, but couldn't find anything that I was in love with. HOWEVER, I did manage to find a pair of heeled thigh-highs that I fell in LOVE with. I got a pair of suede thigh highs from Aldo yesterday and am IN LOVE with them! Looking every bit just like Isabel Marant's thigh highs:

They have thigh high flats at Zara, and they are pretty much identical to the IM ones.
