UK Vogue June 2009 : Natalia Vodianova by Mario Testino

Love the shot of Lara wearing the Carr's t-shirt.
Thanks for your scans Manuva.

I actually REALLY like the cover ^_^! It's something new for U.K. Vogue- they are finally pushing the limits! Good for them! The excessful use of the obnoxious pink text is a little tacky, but I love Natalia's pose and the atmosphere. It's very fun, spunky, Malibu Barbie, and, most importantly, VERY summer! Despite her being nude, it's not really a sleazy, sexy cover. I'd HATE to quote Tyra- but it's not men's magazine. It's more fun, flirty, cute.

Sorry for the horrible Imagevenue posting, but I didn't want it to get deleted on Imageshack >.<

I saw this today and I love the cover....very eyecatching:D
This will stand out a mile on newstands.
I actually love the fonts and the colours used, I think Natalia looks fantastic, even though I would have prefered another model.
The eds are all pretty impressive, especially Guinevere/Roversi:woot::woot::heart:
Daria's is nice and Lara is.........well LaraB) She stands alone nowadays.
Natalia's 2 nude shots inside are also fantastic.
Tuii Kuik is featured throughout the supplement.
Better issue than late IMO.

Cover Scan:

I've got Jourdan's and Guinevere's editorials scanned, so I'll post them tonight. I'll try and post the Daria editorial, Tiiu and the rest of the Testino editorial tomorrow, but now I have to attend to the Champions League match tonight:mohawk:

I like Lara's edit, but it is nothing I have never seen. I actually prefer her I&V beach romp in this month's W to this edit. The colors were so much more beautiful.

Manuva, thanks for the cover scan! So the pink is not abrasive neon, but bubblegum? Good, I prefer that color pink! It's less trashy.

^ I agree... But then again, no one shoots models on a sandy beach like I&V

Lara's editorial reminds me of Daria and Carmen's editorial for VP july 07 "Air libre"

I like it, nothing extraordinary though!
But I love lara she's hot !

I seriously think this is a horrible cover, her face expression :yuk:

I totally agree about the colors, they could use softer colors sometimes... We barely see the title 'Vogue' on Jourdan's cover.

I liked Lara's ed :woot: She is very sexy so beachwear eds are perfect for her

Thanks everyone for the scans :flower:

I'm not really a fan of the cover. Something about it is just off about it. Also why does vogue feel the need to do a nude cover so soon after the Love Beth Ditto one was released?

The issue sounds promising. I wish Jourdan was in the actual issue. Do people outside of the uk get the supplement?

I haven't bought vogue uk in over a year. So this issue has to be absolutely amazing for me to even consider buying it.

That's exactly what I was thinking too ! Right down to the styling and black and white photography! Come to think of it, it looks like a Peter Lindbergh rip-off! It's funny how many editorials get linked back to ideas the editors at VP had months, or even years, ago! But Lara still looks good. She is arguably one of the best editorial models out there. I mean, the girl takes a MEAN picture. I  her so much! She looks better in photographs than she does in person, IMO.

Defiantly have to agree with you on this one.

^Thanks :D! The cover looks far more natural and beautiful and less trashy and tacky in bubblegum. Funny how a slight shift of hue can totally alter the aura of a cover !

I agree with you again. It really does change the cover a lot. The cover for the May issue was ruined by the fluorescent colour.
The colours on this cover make is a lot more appealing.

Half time!

nyc_art_style: The Jourdan editorial is in the main magazine. I'm not sure about UK Vogue supplements (which is her cover, but she's not inside) outside of the UK.

More Dash Than Cash seems like it's becoming a regular feature in Vogue, and it makes a welcome change. It seems to be the place for Vogue UK to show the newer younger models. My only complaint is the name, I actually prefer 'More Trendy Than Spendy' but there you go..

The only neon cover that I loved of U.K. Vogue was Agyness Deyn's June 2007 cover. Everything about it was so genius and Pop and just fun! And she looked so amazing, albeit super-airbrushed ! That is probably one of the best, if not the best, U.K. Vogue covers of recent memory.

This is one of the best UK Vogue editorials in recent times that I can remember, the scans don't do it justice really. In print it's incredible and a much darker mood. This is such a great example of model, make up artist, stylist and photographer in perfect harmony.

More Dash Than Cash is the traditional name for the feature, I have one book from the early 90's which is a compilation of the MDTC articles from around that time (I don't know what year they abolished the section).
