US Vogue December 2014 : Amy Adams by Annie Leibovitz

I like everything about it other than the bluish background which is a little bit depressing.

Way, way, way overdue. Embarrassed for people who don't realize that fact. Like her, or don't like her, she's been in some of the biggest/best movies of the past 4 years with The Fighter, The Master, American Hustle, Her. And given great performances in each of them.

I just pray her feature isn't another corny redhead/Grace Coddington homage, because she is more than her hair color.

How is that many people on here don't know who she is? Weird. Anyway i'm so happy for her, but i don't know how i feel about the cover. The color scheme is great but she looks kinda awkward

In love with this cover. VOGUE US have been stepping up their game this year imo. January, March, May, July, August, October and November were all fantastic. This is the cherry on top!

Finally a Vogue cover for Amy! She looks gorgeous! Love the colors!!

I find this to be a perfect US Vogue cover, it all works, she looks amazing, the dress is a bit daring, but still chic, and it manages to look festive without being tacky.

Wonder if Annie or perhaps Mert&Marcus shot this......

I love the styling and the pose and I also like Amy but the way they photoshoped her face is shameful! specially her mouth, it ruins an otherwise beautiful image imo :(

I'm not entirely sure what you mean with 'second class', but imo she's anything but! Amy Adams is perhaps one of the most conscientious yet versatile actresses of this generation. Her performances for 'serious' films are almost always on point.

I have a huge mistrust of people who use the word conscientious. Aside from that I do agree with most of your comment.

What a lovely cover. So happy to see Amy FINALLY covering US vogue, it seems to be well overdue. The colours are beautiful and I love the dress, my only issue is that her face looks a little grubby - something about the lighting or retouching makes it seem like her face wasn't properly washed (hopefully this will change when there's a HQ version available) All in all, a great cover and I'm happy to see Amy.

By the look of the retouching on her face this is by Mert & Marcus.

Most probably it's by Leibovitz. She has been shooting their December covers ever since 2011 (Charlize, Anne, Jessica)

Almost did a spit take when I read this because I burst out laughing.

I like Amy, she's been in so many good films over the last decade and has four or five Oscar nominations, I think. Somewhat bold choice in terms of the dress they've selected. Adore the color scheme, too. It looks suitably festive without using green or red (well, aside from her hair and that one "+").

This is really pretty. Love the greenish backdrop against the gold masthead and Amy's red hair. It's very much Mert & Marcus's April 2012 cover with Jennifer Lopez.

to me, this is really bad - it looks sad and depressing, her face expression is weird and that beautiful dress absolutely fade away...

This cover is pretty good, though I feel like Amy's face is being really forced, and the hair and make-up isn't doing much for her here. The gown is gorgeous and the colour of the backdrop goes fantastically with her hair colour, but she seems washed out as well. I don't know where I stand.

I know everyone is all up-in-arms about the feature with Kendall, but it's just gone live on the magazine's website, and I have to say, Patrick Demarchelier made her look infinitely better than Amy. I wouldn't have minded seeing her on the cover if I'm all too honest.

She looks gorgeous and that is something undeniable, BUT she hasn't done something yet that makes her cover material. There are far more deserving stars than Kendall. Maybe someday but not anytime soon. Meryl only got her first cover in 2010/2011 (?) and she's Meryl Streep already. Amy, after many fantastic films, only got hers now... so maybe Kendall can wait for a longer while. And she, at the moment, is nowhere near the market of Vogue.

I agree Kendall looks great, not sure if it´s US Vogue cover worthy but some closeups could make excellent covers for other publications imo. This might be one of the very few times that I like her as a model, at least she´s doing something with her face :)
So she´s the new face of Estee Lauder? I´m kinda shocked, actually...

I like the cover .. but never heard of Amy before.

Kendalls shoot would be nice for Teen Vogue. She´s not good enough for Vogue (imo).

In this time ... having the right connections is guarantee to make it big!

Kendall is not even with a modeling agency ..right?
