Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2008 - Please see first post before posting*UPDATED

So Vlada was an alternative? How come she got to do the fitting but wasn't on the show? Does that happened a lot? She's wearing Caroline's dress, and before I wondered why everyone was so negative to Vlada doing the show but now I see it, she wouldn't have fit in I think. Carro looked so much better in that dress anyway!

The day girls like Vlada start to walk even this show I'm going to quit fashion world completely I'm suuuure this is old news but all Victoria's Secret stores have been ordered to remove Izabel, Karolina, and Selita from their marketing and store decor. For many stores, this meant stripping the walls of its wallpaper, renovating their fitting rooms, and removing all of the giant framed portraits behind the cash registers. Any items that featured Izabel (e.g. Very Sexy Hair products) were to be immediately put on clearance, save for the Body Shapers (fashion tape, petals, etc) which are in the process of re-shoots.
The replacement store decor has been shipped, and it mainly features Adriana, Doutzen, and Emanuela. New furniture has also been shipped with "signatures" from the girls on it. The names signed on the chairs being sent thus far are Adriana, Ale, Miranda, and Doutzen.
There might have been more names on them, but there was crap on the chair that was signed, and I was too busy working to move it. However, there is DEFINITELY purposely left space on the chair for more signatures...

Most definitely out! Her contract expired Feb '09 and they have no plans to renew it!

oh yes because her typologie is now represented by emanuela. i'll miss her. i think she was an elegant addition to the group
Emanuela seems to be their new darling when it comes to marketing, and the public feedback is very positive to her so yes, it's safe to say she's the new "typologie" representation!

I'm sad to see Selita go I think she had a great personality and was a good edition to the angels. And Karolina as well because she has been with them for so long! Well, I guess new times are to come, right?

Very bad news ... The KK part didn't shock me because we've known about that for a long time. But Selita? Replaced by Emanuela? Oh my gosh! They are don't know what they are doing... Selita is so much better than her. Actually, this whole Emanulea thing is so sudden to me. She appears in only one show and she's already an angel? Come on...
Well Marissa got to be an angel right away, so that she's there so fast doesn't surprise me, but I can agree with you that it all seems so quick some how. And I'm not sure I'm gonna like her that much, Selita fit way more in there!
I think the Emanuela transition began when they made her the face of BioFit Lace - she was on giant posters in the windows of stores and when that got positive feedback, they pushed forward with it. However, I remember hearing whispers as early as last spring that she was being considered. If you do the math, there was no way she could have done another VSFS since the only show in between last spring and now was VSFS08.
Victoria's Secret has also redone their "Best of Bras" book, which is available free to the public now in participating stores. Izabel, Karolina, and Selita are not featured in these books. They were printed around Thanksgiving. So these contract decisions were made well in advance!

No, Marisa didnt get to become an Angel right away as you say.
She has been working for VS for many years before she made to the VSFS and only after that she became an Angel. So its not that they made her one only after the show - she totally deserved that because shes been with VS for many years and was in catalogues as well as on VS covers too. The earliest I can remember is 2001/2. 
And thanks for the news, doutzen ( nice name eh
). Im not excited about 'darling Emanuela' either.
She is way too mediocre for me and her VS pictures dont blow me away at all. And yes, shes a sleeping pill. I am surprised about her 'positive feedbacks'.Selita ( altho Im not a fan) definitely had more of personality and presence.B)

A friend's wife just left as the manager of a local VS store- I was tempted to go talk to them since it's an interesting company- I don't think I'd mind working for them... (And I could probably get some cool posters)!!

. Well thanks for the correction, I guess I need to do my VShomeworkWhy KK! I thought she was doing well as one of the lead VS angels! What happened? VS does not like her any more or what? KK was one of the VS angels that I thought would have some longevity similar to Alessandra. What a sad news. I will definitely miss KK.
Although I did not quite like Selita because she "sort of" bumped Oluchi off the VS angel spot in my opinion, I thought she had the personality as a VS angel moreso as a spokesmodel. Emmanuela is drop gorgeous(sp) though and I must admit the first time I saw a huge VS poster of her ad last Feb(2008) at a VS store, I was completely blown away. Even my husband thinks She was made for VS as she oozes sensuality without even trying to be sensual at all! I guess time will tell how well she does. Seems like VS is having a fast 3 or 4 year turnaround for their angel lineups and just when you begin to get used to the girls, they replace them with a new line up. Only Adriana and Alessandra and to some extent, Heidi seem to have escaped this "high angel turnover" aside from Gisele who decided to leave on her own but even Gisele had a good 7 year run as an angel which is pretty impressive. Oh well, i guess its the sign of the times

i am only speculating here, but i think that the Karolina decision was mutual. i'm pretty certain that she wanted to pursue an acting career and she's quite comfortable financially, so she might have just felt it was time to move on. also, with her change in appearance over the past year, perhaps VS was fine with her departure as well. they've got Doutzen as the token blonde bombshell and i'm sure she'll do very well for them.
