Vogue Italia June 2021 : Rihanna by Rihanna

I think than these covers are the Rihi's worst photos of her career, both are horrible & zero creativity.

This is the fugliest and the gimmickiest thing I have ever seen Vogue do. Every single time I cannot help and fall into the same trap. Every single time before I open I know this is going to be hideous, yet every single time I let myself be so disappointed that I cannot not go into the rage mode and type things like this.

Well, where to start? Let's go with the biggest case – I cannot believe photographers, graphic designers and artists have to fight, often lie, have lack of sleep and money, work 24/7, sometimes even betray people to get a damn glimpse at working for Vogue, and they have so much talent. And THIS is what we get. This effing cr*p is vile, and this cover makes me despise Rihanna. Rihanna by Rihanna. Fenty by Rihanna. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna. Vogue Paris - Guest Editor-in-Chief is Rihanna with herself on the cover. Honestly, I do not believe so many people enjoy her – she seems so full of herself and with her head up her *ss, because while I admit she is a genius marketologist and businesswoman, creative talent and true fashion interest are completely lacking in her.

She is indeed the second singer to complete the big 4 after Madonna. With Madonna it is justified - she is the biggest female artist of all time and also a true fashion icon. Rihanna is far from it, especially without the help of a team of designers and stylists behind her.

I cannot digest that during her time Cher did not get all four, and that these days it is not Lady Gaga who got all 4 first. Not only she has way more musical talent, among musicians Gaga is arguably the most influential in fashion's history. And this is not only my opinion - there is literally a whole documentary about fashion designers and stylists hating working for musicians and creating red carpet dresses , because they saw it as cheap, lacking interest and useless, and this was changed single-handedly by the Gaga + Formichetti combo in early 2010s.

I am so fed up with her. I'd take 10000 Eilish covers over another one of Rihanna before she does anything of importance.

I FRICKING HATE THESE COVER. You get Rihanna and produce this?? I’m so annoyed.

The first cover could’ve been okay but why would anyone put that pile of trash that’s supposed to spell DIY on the cover? Chile bye. I can’t.

Rihanna without Mel ottenberg means nothing to fashion, just watch her latest fancy tasteless candids with vintage pieces putted together so bad. Everything else is just bad as usual at vogue Italia, no surprises. After such a packed June July vogue paris we got this... I’d rather choose Farneti to out Condé Nast than Alt.

Whats that documentary? I would love to see it ;) thx

I don’t care for the cover. She is Rihanna it’s already deemed as iconic on the internet so...

I’m actually beyond mad for the project on itself. At a time when Condé Nast and magazines overall are hurting, instead of showcasing the talents of the industry, let’s just feed the ego of a celebrity and her stylist. My rant just happen to be about Rihanna now but if it was someone else, the rant would have been the same.

So what’s the value of Vogue Italia seriously? She is already the creative director of her career, does she really need this?

Kudos for her stylist tho. He keeps getting great credits despite not being a heavy player in the industry.

We already have celebrities requesting to be interviewed by celebrities, celebrities demanding to be photographed by a certain types of photographers, celebrities styled by their stylists and teams for fashion campaigns and magazines, now this.

Farneti thinks he is all revolutionary when he is hurting the industry even more...

That DYI thing sounds so April 2020.
Nothing to see here, I'm out too!

Goodness the claws are out today. It’s one thing to not like a cover but to say that she’s not deserving or that she has no fashion influence is a little far fetched. She’s inspired trends, hairstyles, and outfits for over a decade now. Even if those looks were put together by a stylist, the same can be said for the entertainers who were cited as more deserving in this thread. I think she has just enough right to cover the big four as Madonna. And there are plenty singers who I find fashionable and talented that will never have the opportunity to cover the big four, let alone one edition of Vogue. And last time I checked, everyone who has guest edited Paris Vogue’s December issue has covered the issue as well. If I’m wrong, I’m sure more have guest edited and fronted the cover compared to those who did not.

Now this cover is not my favorite from Rihanna. Don’t really care for it to be honest. But the dragging was unwarranted and misinformed.

I for once, actually like both covers.

whereas the first one is somehow flamboyant and sexy but so is Rihanna. so, spot on!
and I love that she’s unapologetically, herself, always.

the second cover falls more on the realms of an experimental Vogue Italia a la Franca Sozzani, I dare say. which I like also like.

now the cons: what is she promoting exactly?
why does Farneti keep using these hideous layouts???

This magazine is a total imposter. Where is the real Vogue Italia?

All their covers are starting to look the same with the blank white backdrop and cringe art direction. Like Rihanna shot this? No, Farneti, you shot this... and yourself in the foot because soon people will get as bored of this uglyness as we are.
