Vogue Paris December 2014/January 2015 : Inès de La Fressange by Mert & Marcus

Great seeing Inès here, but they've completely photoshopped all the character that made her such a unique and stunning model. Yes, she still looks great, but doesn't really look like her.

Oh I love Ines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally getting this...

Completely unexpected and I love it! The font ruins the image. Cannot wait to see her interview. It'll be bound to be filled with lots of shading gems. Wonder what Karl thinks of all this. Hahaha.

Beautiful cover indeed! But what bothers me is how the overall feel of the cover feels like last month's!

^Gray background, Mert & Marcus, Red mast head, red & white font. It's a bit lazy and uninspiring since it's two consecutive months.

M&M really monopolized the covers this year! 5/10! I hope next year we see more Sorrenti and I&V! Their covers are better than studios by M&M

I mean its photoshopped within an inch of its life (but that's M&M for you) however I think it's a pretty stunning cover. It's very classic.

Beautiful cover but I'm with the comments about M&M's retouching. We've got to a horrible point in our culture where you're simply now allowed to look your age in magazines, regardless of how beautiful you are, like Ines. It's scary and sad, should be a proud thing to look fantastic for your age, not some morphed thirty year old smooth version of yourself.

A second cover:

They really did. Half of the year's covers is a bit overkill, especially since most of them weren't good to begin with.

Both covers here are totally uninspiring for me. The retouching is crazy, the poses boring and the fonts and art direction amateur. The contents better be good because I'll have to look at this issue for almost two months.

Oh both covers are gorgeous!!!!

Both covers are beautiful and also terribly unexciting. I expected something more for December/January so I confess myself underwhelmed.

Unexpected but great to see Ines on the cover. It feels iconic and I love it but of course too much PS, I'm just ignoring that.

"I'm often asked about the Parisienne. What does she look like? How does she dress? [...] Then I bump into Ines de la Fressange and it's all there: the silhouette as slim as the stroke of René Gruau's pen, the sober style that exudes innate elegance, the deep brown gold-flecked eyes, the velvet tones that belie an irresistible spirit, the healthy dose of common sense, the taste for liberty and the joie de vivre," writes Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt in her December 2014/January 2015 editorial. Two covers and inside editorials from Mert & Marcus, David Sims and Mario Sorrenti capture the many facets of Ines de la Fressange, as the ultimate Parisienne invites Vogue Paris to a family Christmas. Inès even opens her personal photo album, with tenderly written comments by her long-time partner Denis Olivennes. Her daughter Violette d’Urso is our Miss Vogue this month and life-long friends Elie Top and Jean Paul Goude open up, in an issue built with emotion, elegance and humor. Multitalented Ines opens her Paris address book to share her favorite places in her home city, alongside the secrets to her seemingly eternal youth, some juicy fashion stories and her hopes for Christmas and beyond. Don't know how she does it all? Nor do we, prepare to find out in an issue made-to-measure with a peerless Parisienne.

the cover is gorgeous but I wish they haven't polished off her face... come on... some lines would have been nice...

Disappointing... I miss Carine and her surprises and her audacity. To me Ines de la fressange is just a has-been choice.

I'm tired of Ines. I don't think she is a good choice for a December cover, and the execution falls flat. I wished for something more festive.

Anyways, tired of M and M's work.

There is something about this covers i do not like. I still cannot put my finger on it.

it's all so boring, it even looks like a L'Officiel cover. i mean, her again, the stale "french icon" theme, M&M. totally uninspiring.

french ELLE is light years ahead in terms of creativity, be it the choice of contributors or art direction. which is great for readers, who can enjoy all this weekly, but devastating for VOGUE. i've grown to expect nothing from this title.
