Vogue Paris December 2014/January 2015 : Inès de La Fressange by Mert & Marcus

does the "guest of honor' tagline means the whole issue is dedicated to her?

Ines on Vogue Paris cover as "La Française idéale"?
According to whom?
The joke of the year!

So it's going to be an issue with Ines only? So boring.

It's going to be a long wait until the next issue.

Wait a minute, it means she's the 'guest editor', and not that the issue is dedicated to her, right?

I like both covers ... They aren't boring to me. My preference goes to second cover, though. I feel she is more herself on the second cover. On the first one, she has a sort 1950s make-up and hair that I barely understand ...

I think this is good to have her on the cover of Vogue Paris. But yeah, if this is an "internationally-target" issue - ie, there goes the Parisian cliche, and all French cliches - forgive me for not buying this ! I'm homesick, but sick of French/Parisian cliches, too.

The first cover is beautiful, but prefer the colored version. She looks much more like herself in it.

I like both covers but I'm just so rarely excited by Vogue Paris anymore, not in the way I used to be. I thought the cover in the swimming pool with Natasha this summer was perfect - it felt very Vogue Paris to me: quirky, sexy and it toed the line in terms of taste/aesthetic appeal which I love. Whereas these covers are perfectly nice looking but there's none of that excitement. I also miss the old font so much, it was much more elegant. I think these would look much more appealing with a metallic silver or gold treatment on the type/masthead instead of this red. I am interested to see what's inside but I'm not expecting a whole lot. Overall, the covers are perfectly fine but not that interesting to me.

It's funny to see that most of us are already bored by "La Parisienne" title.
I hate to compare the two but Carine really challenged her celebrities cover girls. Charlotte Gainsbourg in a sexy Dolce dress, a Tom-boyish Sophie Marceau or a very sensual Sofia Coppola.

Multitalented Ines opens her Paris address book to share her favorite places in her home city, alongside the secrets to her seemingly eternal youth, some juicy fashion stories and her hopes for Christmas and beyond. Don't know how she does it all? Nor do we, prepare to find out in an issue made-to-measure with a peerless Parisienne.

I mean, she did a book on how to be the Parisienne. In Elle, at least 3 times/year, we can read that. Caroline de Maigret already did that. Paris is not that big! And seriously, doesn't she have anything else to say?
I'm really annoyed by this Parisienne thing. Really!

What secret is that? Just get Mert & Marcus to edit the hell out of your photos? Ta-da!:lol:

I see nothing wrong with the choice! She is incredibly well-known in France where the majority of the copies of this magazine are going to sell... Apart from being a famous model she is a very successful businesswoman and a person who could probably tell one or two interesting stories... I would have preferred someone like Caroline de Maigret but never mind... What bothers me is the excessive use of photoshop and an illusory world created by it which M&M have contributed to immensely... It's becoming quite ridiculous...

You've perfectly summed up how I feel about this. The only difference being that I still live in France and I am sick with their parisian cliches. She should've put Inès on the cover the first time she did a parisian issue and be done with it. Inès is the ultimate Parisian model, the covers are great, I'm sure the editorials and article will be a pleasant read but It's getting really aggravating. Always see the same themes. Next year we'll probably get the same theme with Caroline de Maigret ? Or maybe Charlotte Gainsbourg, Marion Cotillard or one of Alt's fav models. I mean enough already.

But aren't all magazines kind of this way? UK Vogue is all about London. UK Bazaar is all about the country side so forth and so on.

Really? This is a fashion forum and she's is very popular as a model an style icon...

In all fairness Inès does not really attend a lot of events, she's fairly low-key nowadays, plus the height of her career was decades ago. Can't imagine many younger members would know who she is.

Ines is quite famous beyond France indeed, but still...I am bored with her and the always recycled concept of La Parisienne.
