Vogue Paris March 2009 : Iris Strubegger by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

I've just noticed something!
Check out the thumbnail version of the cover in the magazine p.53
Iris actually had a cigarette on the covershot but they photoshopped it for the final cover

Le sac
Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier
Styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele
Model: Edita Vilkeviciute

scanned by Diorette

Just a request for anyone who's going to post scans in the future: Can you please avoid using Imagevenue to host your pics? I'm using a public computer right now, and the pics hosted on Imagevenue have a lot of p*rn*gr*ph*c ads. :o

Thank you so much for the scans Diorette. This issue looks divine, Iris is work-in-it and Daria just oozes glamour in her ed (my favorite shot is the same one mikel reposted its amazing). I will definitely be getting this.

I actually love all eds :heart: And thanks for scans, Diorette, I always love your scans!

to be honest, i adore Karlie's editorial. :woot:i mean, i never thought of Karlie to have such a great potential. she used to be just a cute super-thin kid with long hair and candy-eyes. but these images have made me discover the girl once again. what a charisma, what a sense of movement, posing, articulating. she reminds me of Sasha in her heyday mind-blowing shoots (as the one styled by MAS with oversized shoulders silhouette). what can i add... me is thrilled.
as for Iris. i do think she did a fantastic job and her permanent facial expression totally generates Gabriele feeling in these shots: graceful, supreme, strong on the verge of cruelty. i sort of doubt the styling though(sometimes it looks too trashy and over-accessorised to look like Chanel, more a rave-kid-wannabe granny).^_^
the concept of Edita's story bores me to death and reminds me of Simon Robins LOGO-orgies in Vogue Russia. too much merchandising, too little fashion (i hope Chanel's PR department can't stop drinking Veuve Clicquot these days now that the issue has hit the newsstands). but isn't it about Chanel-the-super-vehicle nowadays?
and Daria's edit brings a pretty weird impression of E.Alt feeling a bit uncomfortable restrained to the Chanel-only zone. but maybe it's just me. hope she had fun on set.
anyway, thank you for all the previews and scans. this issue seems to be witty, but really likeable.
by the way, how many Chanel ad pages are there in this issue? *do i hear Carine whispering 'Ka-Ching'?*:ninja::lol:

thanks so much, Vogue Paris: now im hating chanel even more than ever :D
either way, Thanks for scans, Diorette!:shifty:

Chanel has the cover, the back cover (cosmetics), 2 double page in the beginning ads ...
and then there are 'signs' almost everywhere ... in the Mode News (two little things), in Zoom (apart from the credits, Carmen has her foot on a Chanel #5 bottle), and in En Vogue you have Chanel 'signs' without though having a lot of Chanel credits ...
but it's a Special Chanel issue .... so .... it's Chanel everywhere ...

I agree with your thoughts about the styling in Alt and Roitfeld (Iris' ed)
... My main problem with Alt (now that she's so overexposed and loved by everyone and that i know her style very well) is that actually she doesn't style for people but for her ... If designers were artists, I can tell you the curator (Alt in this case) would be slapped .... E. Alt really has her signature .... And sometimes, I'm wondering if you like more her signature than her way to 'play', style outfits .... but then again, though i think a lot about it i hadn't conclude anything about this yet ... i really don't know what to think ...
:ninja:

Oh, and btw I love M.A. Sauve. I wish she had an edit in this issue. I also really like Daria's edit. I can't wait for my copy to get here!

Chanel theme is such a big thing... They could have done so much better than this. Even the Reality Show theme was SO much better than this.
