Vogue Paris March 2011 : Saskia De Brauw by Mert and Marcus

I really really want to see the VS ed! Hope that will save the issue, cuz right now, it's not good enough.

HATE the text layout in Carmen's ed. So cheap.

I love the emotion in her face. However I am not a big fan of the teeth showing. I believe the image would be more effective without it.

i think the theme of "emmanuelle" has more to do with leaving the magazine to emanuelle alt than the content of the films. maybe a slight dig as they are no longer on speaking terms?

"It's because everything must end that everything is so beautiful ...", wrote Carine Roitfeld , the editorial in the March 2011 Vogue Paris. A number history, being the last of Carine Roitfeld, who resigned as editor after 10 years at the Vogue Paris and signed 100 numbers all the more extraordinary than the others. His latest theme for surrealism, dream-like flashbacks to a colorful country of Dalí. On the cover, found the top Dutch Saskia de Brauw, posing in a series fashion way amateur video made by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
In this issue due out in stores open during Fashion Week in Paris , a special signed Pierre Groppo is devoted to the new guard of French designers, with eight young designers in the spotlight: Maxime Simoen , Olympia Le Tan, Damir Doma, Ligia Dias, Anthony Vaccarello, Bouchra Jarrar, Alberto Marani and Yiqing Yin. A topic that echoes the first Petit Salon of Young Artists to be held at Vogue Bar at the Hotel du Crillon, the 3 to 5 March 2011, during Fashion Week in Paris.
In the heart of the magazine, there are strong trends spring-summer 2011 with a series of absurdity bold jewelry, a fashion and pop colors printed naive euphoria or another featuring Victoria's Secret fashion models with sculptural curves surreal. Finally, Vogue provides an intimate portrait of Dalí's eternal muse and fashion icon Amanda Lear, now muse Riccardo Tisci, an interview with Violaine Binet and a series of black and white mode signed Karim Sadli.
In addition to the issue, a special children's groups all the season's trends and compelling fashion, decoration, first aid and outputs of the summer for boys and girls in vogue.

I had the same feeling when I first read that editorial was inspired by the movie "Emmanuelle", but does it really make sense?

Indeed, one can see the connection in name, but I would like to think there are more flattering ways to pay tribute to your successor than to produce a poor editorial rendering of an rather embarrassing film. Maybe it seemed oh-so-witty at the ideas stage.

maybe in carine's head it made sense....the film is about emmanuelle trying to figure out who she is. she is described as someone who is submissive and immature. at one point she asks her older lover (who hasn't slept with her yet) if he will ever sleep with her and he replies "i am waiting for the next emmanuelle." i think perhaps carine was trying to be cheeky - it plays into her super sexualized 70s style while at the same time implying that emmanuelle isn't as adventurous as her. but who knows! could just be that she liked the film!

I actually like the main editorial and Darias one, I just think it's a little bit underwhelming.
The cover, however, is horrid.-

I think the contrast of VS over the top sexuality and a demure look is actually very smart. Women can be vixens one moment and ladies the next, the whole idea behind VS is that you can (with the help of their products) transform yourself into a sex kitten.

thanks tarsha :flower:

"Body Secrets" by I&V is definitely the editorial i like more in this issue
