Vogue Paris November 2006 : Paris Hilton by Mario Testino

If Vanessa will be featured in Dec/Jan, then it just might compensate for this one...

Uh yeah , no one ever thought that Vanessa could be on the cover of the December/January issue ? Besides , I've seen that cover of the Paris Hilton issue it doesn't have any title outlining that it is the 50th birthday issue. The December/January issue of Vogue-Paris is one of the most important issues of the year (since it generally revolves around the world/fashion style of a celebrity like Catherine Deneuve , Kate Moss, or Sofia Coppola) plus it will probably the one celebrating the 50th birthday, I bet Vanessa will be on cover of that very special issue.

I don't think Vanessa has that kind of star power / cult following to get that issue. I was amazed even when I heard about the supposed November cover. I don't think Paradis is a "high quality" celebrity; she's more an ELLE girl.

I wouldn't be surprised if Charlotte Gainsbourg would be getting that issue, she's gotten a lot of coverage during the last year.

Oh thank goodness, I shall still hold out hope for a Vanessa cover next month! ^_^

She does (well at least in my sense) ,especially since she gained some kind of a fashion personality as off lately, without counting the fact that she is some kind of an international star since she's Johnny Depp's girlfriend, I do see her getting that Vogue cover especially since Vogue has never done anything with her and hell she's one of the faces of Chanel.

Charlotte Gainsbourg already had a long article about her and her collaboration with Nicolas Ghesquière in the September issue, and several others in the past.

Both Vogue Italia and Paris are very disappointing with covers this time.

Compared to Deneuve, Coppola and Moss? No, in my opinion she doesn't have anything like that. I'd love to see her in it, but I doubt it. She's not recognized abroad (at least not in my country, and there's a big Depp following here, and hearing from other countries too). Her Chanel ads are not well known, and she's only been used three times. Her career is not exactly on rise. Major fashion magazines (minus ELLE) have never featured her.

I forgot about the Gainsbourg/Ghesquiere article. Now I think it might be Anna Mouglalis.

Definetily not putting my money on Paradis. No matter how much I like her, but she just does not stand a chance.

I've always thought that a rumour is always based on something true, so it might be true about Vanessa.About Anna Mouglalis, she has no carreer whatsoever except for the fact that she's the face of Chanel , she isn't really known for anything else (her carreer as an actress isn't really on the rise yet).Vanessa on her side has had been known as an actress/singer for ages and is somehow considered as a fashion personality. But you're right about the fact that she doesn't have the status of a style icon. That would be funny though since she has been on the cover of 'Elle's 50th birthday years ago.

I remember a teenage Vanessa Paradis reaching number one in the UK charts in 1987 (I think I was the same age as her) though I'd reckon the international highlight of her career came with that 1992 'Birdcage' ad for Chanel's Coco. And I get the impression that her fame has actually dimmed since she's settled down with Depp...

Anyway, despite all that, it's another hopeful vote for Vanessa Paradis.

I've always thought she's considered a one-hit-wonder and is still remembered as a teen star in France. But then, I don't live in France so I can't say anything about that.

Uh no, not really (mind you I'm not a great fan of her, don't get me wrong). But her last album 'Bliss' was a success plus she still appears in films (hell 'La Fille sur le Pont' was a success too) , granted that was 5/6 y ago, but it didn't make her stop appearing in magazines , especially since she got an international fame status being Johnny's girlfriend. Her appearances with Johnny Depp feature regularly in French magazines.

Vanessa was also the cover girl for Marie Claire's 50th annivesary ^_^

Vanessa Paradis is still very considered as a teen star but no way considered as a one-hit girl. it's true Joe le taxi is a forever tube, but she's an actress, too. french know she's good actress (even after the "Noces Blanches" scandal...)

I don't mind Paris Hilton is she looks great on the photos and if there's no article about her:lol:

Soon I cannot buy any magazines since I'm boycotting them all. Maybe we at TFS should form our own magazine? NCP = No Celebs Please.

what a great idea!! i'd surely support that. i HATE celebs on vogue covers (esp us vogue)....

What I don't understand, is that Vogue Paris has 85 years, not 50th !
By the way Vanessa has already been on cover of Vogue Paris and two times on cover of Vogue Homme, in the early 90s

she deserves much more the cover of Vogue than Paris Hilton, and so the readers

^ That confuses me also, so I wondered if maybe it was a different edition of Vogue, but she doesn't seem to be on the cover of any of them.

If it is untrue though, it makes me wonder where Corbis got the information from

Her last sucess was the girl on the bridge 8 years ago. Bliss flopped and her two lastest films flopped too. Shes more refered to as Johnny Depps girlfriend than an artist.

Id rather see a model than a celebrity be it Paris or Paradis.

Paris Hilton on the cover of Vogue Paris? o_o

Is anyone else gathering canned foods and bottled water in preparation for the apocalypse? Because surely this must be a sign of the worlds end.

I agree a TFS magazine should be formed! All fashion all the time with no celeb coverage.

That's what I thought too. I did hear she got good reviews for "Bliss" though, but it didn't sell.

Yup, model over Paradis every time. But the Dec/Jan number is never about a model (Moss is considered more a celeb than a model these days, even though she is still working).

Personally, I'd love to see some of the old school French actresses in the Dec/Jan issue...I don't think actresses/singers have that much style these days. The reason why it wouldn't hurt to have Paradis on it would be because I think she photographs very well, I'm not that crazy about her style though, and I despise her interviews.
