Vogue Paris November 2006 : Paris Hilton by Mario Testino

^^A big mistake. I would only understand this if Paris paid 10 million to get on the cover of "her" Vogue. I guess they saw the Nicole Richie Vogue Italia cover and jumped on the train, favouring a friend of theirs. I have to say it's the first time they have put someone as inappropriate as this on their cover. I guess this is the fashion magazine equivalent to jumping the shark :innocent:

Gosh, at least this is something that Anna Wintour would not let happen to her mag as long as she is alive.

I thought I read this wrong......my dear--What the hell is happening to fashion!?

the picture of the cover of paris is not the real magazine only a try out, maybe it is not true, i dont want to believe that paris is on paris vogue, i hope there is nothing inside i dont want to buy this issue!!:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

when I first read the thread....that Paris was on French Vogue, I laughed....and i laughed hard! I thought US Vogue was bad for recycling actresses on the cover but at least they haven`t and probably never put PARIS HILTON on the cover of US VOGUE!

C`est horrible!! My fail attempt to write in french!!

Let's just hope Paris doesn't have anything in this issue apart from the cover and there's amazing eds to partly make up for this atrocity. I swear my respect for Carine has just skydived.

omg the magazine is not even printed yet. and already 7pages!!!
this is just Paris Hilton doing a cover. yeah yeah Vogue is a bible and when I'm reading your post it's like Paris HIlton has no right to have an entrance in Bible....
well she's doing the cover. in a minimalist way. she's wearing Balenciaga (?) and looks beautiful and def. not vulgar.
Vogue is there to represent modern lifestyle etc., to makes us dream, to makes everything glamourous etc.
Paris Hilton is a f***ing socialite and has a great "impact" on teens...

Why a socialite wouldn't have the right to do a Vogue cover?! such girls used to do that back in the early XXth.

"special beaute" makes it even more ridiculous and repugnant
who the hell would ever think she is beautiful?
extremely hideous cover because they couldn't make it right :yuk:

I think the cover looks bad. It looks stiff and reminds me of well, Paris Hilton.

I always thought Vogue Paris was a magazine for women, not teenage girls. So if Paris does have an impact on some poor teenagers, then why should that be a reason for her to be in the cover of Vogue? Do fashionable French women admire and look up to her?

Just because you're famous does not entitle you to be on the cover of Vogue Paris.

that was my point but didn't know how to tell it :
don't you think Vogue is trying to turn to daughters' readers?
I mean in France this is a big trend in fashion magazines. they are all talking about a NEW GENERATION. and it's turning for teens. they have the money.

Oh, I didn't know that. Well, if they are trying to do it this way...maybe they will succeed. I find most of the young generation to be quite brainwashed.

Once again, it is the money that rules everything...I think I'm going to soon have to say I'm anti-fashion.

Well, she said that Paris Hilton was controversial, and that Vogue Paris loves controversy and that she wanted to "glamourize" hilton's sulfurous image. And that everything she touches turns to gold, yeah haha.

i know Vogue Paris is desperate for grabbing a piece of the high circulation cake but promoting PH with hopes that they'll sell more issues is more than pathetic..

Carine R. should take a bit more 'pride' to her covers, sorry but the 'controversial' excuse wont do, cause Paris is not 'controversial' she's a laughing stock issue

BerlinRocks, i honestly hope French teens have more to look up to than Paris Hilton.. promoting her is not doing those teens any favor..

Exactly. It would have been a little more interesting a few years ago, but now it's just  And as for "The new generation"...errr... that might have been a valid reason a while back. At this point I'm wishing they could have put on a Balenciaga hat on her head to complete the picture...

If only Balenciaga made paper bags :innocent:

Mind you, if Paris Vogue's agenda is to be provocative, they've certainly done it with this cover.

Since when has Hilton been fashion? I'm sick and tired of distorted celebrity culture everywhere.

Man, Hilton is very disliked  I really don't see why it's so bad. It's Paris Hilton, right... But it's just a cover, that cover-wise, isn't exactly horrible. If the magazine inside is wonderful, I don't really care for who's on the cover.
