Vogue Paris October 2008 : Christy Turlington by Inez & Vinoodh

beautiful cover, thank you everyone for all the scans :flower:

I wish I was still in France :ninja: (hate paying so much for it in the UK )

Malgosia is really one of the models with whom their work is performance - she's completely channeling Alexa Singer that whole group of early1980s models with buff bodies and short hair. Malgosia isn't built that way per se but the way she moves her body makes her seem more muscular than she is in order to play that part. She's really turning it on for the camera.

I love M&M's use of color as always - this edit isn't perfect but it's inventive and possibly the best thing I've seen in this issue thus far. I think Lakshmi and Yasmin's edit was lacking - they're two of my favorite girls but the styling was just unappealing and the photography uninspired. There were better ways to execute that concept - I do love the hair though, nice and huge, it certainly makes a statement.

I want to see where this Christy editorial is going to go...

Demarchelier's ed is styled by Carlyne Gere  A new fashion editor at Vogue Paris is pretty unusual.

i think she used to work at elle, non ?

i hope they receive my new subscription before they sent the issue.
don't know if it's at my home or not ....

Yes... Alexa & even though she was more 70's I'd say Esme Marshall too

Thanks Luxx & thank you for the scans Diorette

what a shame that people still use FUR!!! I thought established models are a bit more intelligent and are against this cruelty, but I am afraid I am wrong!

I know it looks so oldfashioned

Malgosia's ed is quite stellar. I love the shot of her wearing that jacket backwards....very Olivier Rizzo in terms of styling.

That's exactly how I feel. I clicked on each of Diorette's lovely scans out of a sense of obligation to my two faves who don't get much editorial love...but I cringed at every viewing, doggedly focusing on their face and poses, trying valiantly to ignore the atrocities they were forced to wear . My poor babies.

It was a great pairing though. I'd love to see them in OG eds but I am almost as eager to see Lakshmi working it with Mariacarla without a bunch of inferior models hogging camera space. And for some reason I'd love to see Yasmine with Daria ^_^.
