What is the "disco sl*t" look?

oh my, finally disco, the love of my life, will make it BIG again. i am beyond happy  what's not to love about this! you really captured it in your posts, disco54 :flower:
i think i own every book ever written about Studio, and its heroes and heroines back in the day. i even hunted down THE REAL so called "gucci *edit* chain necklace" promoted by original disco sl*t and studio regular monique van voreen in numerous interviews, just because i loved the allure of it.

Seeing the new S/S 08 Versace Jeans Couture made me think of this thread, specially one where there are 2 models in slinky sequin silver halters and this guy wearing a white suit...wish there was a pic online of it!

Aw what a shiny happy glittering orb of a thread this is... How about the old term ,"Disco Bunny" if Disco sl*t is a bit much?

of course! here goes...

disco-licious monique with andy warhol, who hosted a party at studio when her cook book "the happy cooker" (receipes include a *edit* stuffed turkey and sexy spanish fly burgers) first came out.

and here's the gucci vial necklace, worn by many a studio regular during the heyday of disco in the seventies :D:

Foto 6.jpg

pic: my own

that vial was used to put a notorious substance but I can mention its againg TFS rules but I think you know what i mean

Those Balmain pix are more mid to late 80s in flavor , a disco sl*t existed in the era between 1977-1982

disco sl*t doesnt mean cheap 10 dollar hookers from hollywood , the look is more high class call girl who would hang out in the discos in the late 70s and early 80s

Awesome!! I can just see Tony Manero saying "Yo, Babe- you and me, out in my Chevy in five minutes- what do ya say"!!?? :woot:

*Guys, just a reminder to please avoid discussing drugs as per tFS policy.

Thanks. :flower:

Oh, so not into this--not that I don't like having a good time--I hope admitting I don't like disco doesn't suggest I hate dancing or living to excess. :P This just doesn't happen to be my uniform of choice, not that I'm a repressed member of "normal" society... (Was disco ever really mainstream enough to seem normal, lifestyle and all? I guess it was like gangstarap--ubiquitous, not really shocking, but still hated by parents.)

No, other than the substance abuse and gay elements, I think it was pretty much accepted- I remember seeing plenty of middle aged parents doing (or trying to do...) the hustle at weddings!!
