What is the "disco sl*t" look?

disco sl*t chic

yeah...well sl*t just a cheeky way of typifying the look , its not meant to be derogatory. Michelle Pfeifer soooooo captures the look.

At first I also though of American Apparel :yuk: reading the title of the thread...

BUT... after reading through and looking at the videos, I see how it is TOTALLY different :D I mean, AA = poseur. Disco sl*t is a way of life, it's real :P And I'm actually really excited for this trend ^_^

yeah maybe but it doesnt have the same punch as "disco sl*t chic".

Disco sl*t?

Gucci's attempt as usual sucks , the previous image boards are more concise , the current collections by Lanvin , YSL , Versace are more what we are talking about coupled with the videos posted. The gucci collection bar the few pantsuits , the dresses are more mid 80s in flavor .

Jerry Hall in 1977. I guess snipped epitomizes the concept for me - the girl who plays it like the very naughty boys :shifty::brows:

Jerry Hall is STUNNING ,what a woman! models back then had such flamboyant personalities , nowadays models are so bland and pubescent looking. I think she did a **** before she did the shoot LOL

Disco Sleek ?

Like disco54 said, I don't think it has the same punch, even though "sl*t" is derogatory. I mean, in a way it's like "the N word," although obviously to a much lesser degree. Then again, words like that are at the top of a lot of my friends' vocabulary, so maybe the meanings are changing.

No drug talk? I think that's a bit of a silly rule, we're hardly children. Rather dubious, don't you think? Pretty blunt if you ask me. Those two particles have a joint relationship...... *cough* in chronological order *cough*

toddiot, I don't know if the 2nd part of your post was addressed to me.
At any rate whether or not drug talk is a silly rule it's off topic here.

I think some of the Gucci 2006 stuff posted here is not very Disco sl*t Chic, some of it looks like 60s mod or even mid 80s...but there are like 2 or 3 pieces that fit in this trend.

Some examples of those who could serve as inspiration for this thread (and some even have a thread in Star Style from the Past) could be: Bianca Jagger, Halston, Farah Fawcett, Margaux Hemingway, Brooke Shields, Nan Kempner, YSL, Jerry Hall, Travolta, Al Pacino, Richard Gere, Cheryl Tieggs, Janice Dickenson, Barbara Carrera, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Alana Hamilton, Steve Rubell, Margaret Trudeau, Liza Minelli, Mihail Barshnikov, Ali Mc Graw, Grace Jones, Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, JFK Jr.; just to mention a few names.

It was sort of (vaguely) directed to the moderator who censored the word out, but we've been talking through PMs and it's all cleared up now.

Sorry about that, will remember for next time! :flower:

I'm so ready for a 70's revival!

**well...
the RELAUNCH OF THE HALSTON LABEL will be next MONDAY 2/4/08 in NYC...
if anything is going to propel this look back into the mainstream...
