It's starting to seem like every other first-world country has one, so why not us? Do you think it will ever happen? Because we are in desperate need of some better fashion magazines, and any time now would seem opportune to me ...

I guess it's because American Vogue sells so much in Canada that there hasn't been the same demand for our own version. I'm not sure Canadian Vogue would be that successful. I'd worry it would turn out like Australian Vogue, just a lot of reprints from other publications.

I've wondered that for a while as well, seeing as Canada produces some of the top fashion models in the world. However I do believe there is no Vogue Canada because, as kwikspell said, American Vogue sells alot in Canada.

However, we do have an Elle Canada, which we sell along song Elle US. So I guess a Vogue Canada wouldn't hurt. However, I would not want one to be printed if it turned into a Vogue Austrailia. That would just be embarassing.

Canada also has a relatively small population. I don't think Vogue Canada would be able to sustain itself financially and put out a product that can compete with Vogue US, especially when they'd probably be selling for about the same price, so people would likely pick Vogue US instead knowing that they have a bigger budget and are able to put more into their product.

I do think it's changing, more people seem to become interested in fashion unlike before. But i feel Canada needs to have its own point of view
We hardly know about our own fashion designers here because there is not enough publicity for them. Plus there are only like 2 schools in all of Canada that offer degrees in fashion  and I cant even say if the education is worthwhile
I know I am not so impressed with fashion in Vancouver, seeing fashion weeks and checking work at local shops... It's either predictable/ordinary or just plain ugly (just going with what I've seen so far)

Because I'm not thrilled about a Vogue in every country, I think Canada is fortunate. :ninja:

I like the idea of having more Canadian magazines, simply because subscriptions to American magazines are overpriced. Subscription to Vogue US cost more than TWICE as much in Canada than in the U.S. But more realistically and less selfishly speaking, Vogue Canada would not be able to compete successfully with Vogue US. Also, the Canadian and American cultures and interests are so smiliar that it is not necessary for two Vogues.

Although, it would be nice if Vogue Canada had to publish reprints of Vogue It. and Paris, so that I would not have to spend SO much on overseas magazines!

i would love to have a canadian vogue.look at all the models and latest great designers we've been producing in this country even though many of thme did leave to europe or states.i think it doesnt have to go the way of australian vogue.in the right hands,it can go the way of british/paris vogue if get some amazing stylists and editors for the job.i def think there's market for canadan vogue.t's different ith elle, most girls would rather buy the us versio, but i think tht vogue is on a different level.we need to start a petition to get it going!
srry for rambling on,but this issue has been bothering me every month i pick up my british/paris/us vogues.thing is we're the second biggest contry in the world(after russia),and we dont have a vogue!!!

We may be the second biggest in terms of land mass but we're definitely not the second biggest in terms of population, and unless all of the wild animals in our national parks develop an interest in fashion, there won't be anybody to buy Vogue Canada. Hahaha.

Haha, I think I know what you mean
I have looked through Vogue too.. It seems a lot of people have really put it up there as one of the 'top' magazines or worthwhile magazines for fashion, but I don't see it at all.. There is a lot of advertisement and nonsense articles. I only go to the editorials and sometimes I will find an article on a designer that's interesting.. Other than that it's a waste
And I would rather Canada come up with its own magazine and not be such a follower of the U.S./other countries...

On the one hand some of the international Vogue's are lacking when it comes to original content but on the other hand it would be neat to see what Canadian Vogue could do just in general. Canada has a lot of talent, great models (just look at some of the stellar girls who have come from Canada in the past few years), interesting designers, and a whole host of uniquely Canadian viewpoints. Granted there are other Canadian magazines that fill the void but a Canadian Vogue would be very interesting.

That said sometimes Conde Nast just doesn't feel like they have the numbers needed to make a Vogue specifically for one country. Every country south of the US border that isn't Brazil (and thank goodness because Brazilian Vogue is fabulous) gets lumped into Vogue Latinoamérica, instead of getting individual magazines. I think it really comes down to what their market research tells them.

I know, I know, we are small and unfashionable and have American Vogue, etc ... but our fashion is awesome! I just spent an entire day shopping in a wack of Toronto boutiques, and I definitely noticed a flair particularly different from an American equivalent. Kind of like our models! We're a bloody powerhouse, and I think that with the recent spotlight on us and agencies like Elmer Olsen practically creating a supermodel on the hour, we're in a better place than ever to get something like this started. I mean, yeah, the whole population thing/domination of American media (which is pretty much why I want this thing, I'm getting bored as hell with it - and we've made Talking With Americans, which beats everything else ever made, case in point), but Canada is on top right now and shouldn't it be sustained?

^^ I do agree, shopping in Vancouver is pure joy. ^_^

With all the gorgeous models and talented designers, why not?

My friend is in Canada for 3 months and all I want was Vogue Canada her to bring for me then I ended up learning theres no Vogue Canada.Booo ! first- I cant believe- because we have Vogue Turkiye, and 2nd I guess I will request her to buy Flare or Elle Canada to get some idea about Canadian fashion scene and mags and put in my collection/archives.
