^oh...that's good. she's not a favorite of mine, but only because I'm allergic to any model that reminds me of my dark years when i used to buy Cosmo magazine.she was all over the ads. i was.. 12?.
she's very pretty, i'd still be interested to see what she's capable of as a model cause her Ralph Lauren contract seems to have enclosed her into one look only.

About what you said BodhiTree-I can agree, and after you said that I see Hilary Rhoda having a good season.

The new girls I'm rooting for are:

Alana Zimmer, Lais Oliviera/Navvaro, Daiane C, Cecilia Mendez, Simonna Levenok, Alex Pier, Suzanne Diaz, Anna Mariya U and Alina Rudineva^_^ .

Carol Sippel, she is not that new but I hope she'll do really well.!.

The comeback queen will definately be Elise Crombez :flower: .

As YBF pointed out I think we'll see less of Julia, Marija, Heather M,Tiiu and the rest of the gang:(.
Freja, Snejana, Hilary Rhoda and Coco Rocha will take their places and I believe that those 4 will sweep up big time.

Yeah Hilary will continue to be big... strange though, last season she did 20 shows in NY and 20 shows in Paris.. but she only did around 5 shows in Milan. Hopefully she will make her break in that city after her Italian Vogue Cover. With Vogue Italia and Paris Vogue covers.. Hilary is really hot right at this moment. I didn't want to mention her though because she isn't really "new" anymore.

But if we're expanding this to sort of new girls.. Snejana Snejana Snejana... and then Iselin.. and Irina.. and more Snejana.

Although I don' t get Hilary, i have to give her credit for doing so well ^_^
I totally forgot about Iselin. She did campaigns left and right this season which I hope will result in alot of runway appearances.
I'm still so sad that the girl I was rooting for the most is no longer with us

I also think that Tayla and Mariya will be all over NY and Paris. Milan is generally reluctant to new talent or so it seems

I don't know.. Mariya seems a little too cutting edge? I'm not really sure if her look is accessible enough for say.. a Michael Kors show. I think New York.. in general, there are exceptions like Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein.. but in general they hire more established well known girls and aren't really big on taking chances on new girls. Milan and Paris are where the "new faces" appear... at least thats what I think.

In terms of castings I think Prada and Jil Sander are the only shows who introduce some good new faces in Milan. NY is the most welcoming to the newer girls i think because it has so many new and upcoming designers who show their collections at Fashion week. I always look out for the smaller shows like Naum and Wunderkind because their castings are often sublime. I believe Hilary' s first ever show was Wunderkind SS06. At least that' s were I first noticed her.

I guess since NY is the first city.. its bound to some of the girls first runway moments, but I guess what I'm saying is Milan and Paris is where usually New girls are "made".. ie it was Nicolas Ghesquire who "made" Hilary and Prada "makes" a batch new girls it seems every season.

Oh cool, i know what you mean now :flower:. That' s right. In that case once a girl has made it through a Prada casting than she is pretty much secured to have a decent career.

I predict more turmoil for the models from 2003, Julia Stegner, Hana Soukupova, Eugenia Volodina, Tiiu Kuik, Lisa Cant and gang, as they faded last season and will continue to do so as the new girls come up and take their places. Last season it was Freja/Snejana/Sasha/Coco taking the places of Marija and company. This season won't be any different, except they will only have more competition.
As for new models I see these girls rising, or making a reliable appearance
IMG: Holly Hayden, Flavia Lucini, Eva Helene Skarvig, Lara Stone, and Lonneke Engel
DNA: Bette Franke, Agyness, Brittany, Leona, Simone, and more Snejana, and the return of Elise Crombez, also a solid appearance from Romina and Morgane
Women/Supreme: Daine, Heidi V, Rachel Alexander, Amber Milam, Behati, Suzanne Diaz
Elite: Kathleen Burbridge, Darla Baker, Meredith Mason, Coco Rocha
and well, I'm too tired to continue right now...

I agree. Although I wish Elite would drop Meredith. I'm excited about seeing Lonneke ; I think she is looking truly remarkable these days.

Actually it's quite the contrary. In all markets, designers/casting directors want the girls in all the campaigns so there's really not much room in any market for new faces. The few new faces who do get in tend to come via New York. The European market is becoming such a follower of NYC. If the girl makes it there, they go wild over her particuarly in London, Milan and Paris. Of course there are smaller European shows that allow for many new faces but they usually aren't strong enough to launch the girl's career.

Freya would probably have a good season like she did the last...I'm not sure about the baby-faced models but they all had a decent amount of advertising campaigns...so I guess we'll just have to see. But hey, if Lonneke (who is sooo beautiful) whose a model from the 90's can make a comeback...then the 'innocent, doll' faces should be alright....I hope...

I have to disagree
with you on this. Sure many designers get anxious about new faces to
appear for their shows, because change is good, it's refreshing. However
models like Julia Stegner, Hana S, Eugenia V, and Tiiu are a strong hold
for runway shows, because designers have their personal favorites. No
doubt about it those girls I mentioned are favored by many designers. I
do see them on the runways and it won't be scarce.

^they may be a strong hold to the runway but so have been numerous models over the last few years (colette, fernanda, mini, delfine, aurelie, bridget, i could go on forever), and they also happened to be designer's favorites...I dont really see a decrease of Gemma W... but Julia, hana...Tiiu...they've had their moment, were wonderful at it but they're not here to stay and as YBF said, unless they reinvent themselves in some extreme way, we'll only keep seeing less of them in the upcoming seasons...

^ I do agree about Gemma Ward.....I could see Julia having to really
do something amazing, but Hana S and Tiiu, I have to put them in the
same catagory with Gemma.....imo*

I definetly woudlnt put Tiiu into Gemma's category, Tiiu's runway appearances have been getting more scarce as the seasons have come. Her appearances aren't as important as they used to be as seen by bolded designers.

As much as I like Tiiu, she's not as popular as she used to be :flower:

and I agree, tiiu is receding from the spotlight. she's definitely done a lot of solid work but she's been around a while now, fashion wants new blood.
