Why do you like/hate Dior?

HAHAHAHAHAHA ok ok ok Ive had enough laughs out of this thread now so Ill calm down now. J'adore boy whatever ure name is I seriously didnt know that was his race, one of the people earlier said he was French so I just went with it. And addict girl (forgot your name) they probably love me too much lol.

i know that this is completely out of topic but although now you have had a blast from all this, because at the end this is an online forum and no one really knows each other and the worst thing that can happen to you is being edited or baned from it, let us hope this thought you or helped you, even if it was in a very small way, to think twice before you say or writte something, because not only it could get into trouble (real life), but it also, and with all do respect, makes you look a bit like a fool.
ShesElectric also disliked Galliano´s work and his way of presenting the collections but we all discussed decently about it, this is not about always making an arrangement, we can all say or like anything, but since we are talking about fashion, can´t we at least be a little stylish...

i had Baizilla, and i wasn´t saying anything that wasn´t true, and since you are editing on quotes you find disrespectful, you shout edit caroline´s homophobic one, that´s at least disrespectful to me.

I edited your post because you made a personal attack towards her, right after I've told everyone to avoid making this personal.

I can see why you feel you are disrespected and I've already left Caroline a note.

So once again.. It is perfectly okay to disagree with another member, as long as you are keeping it civil.

Please stay on topic and do not make this personal.

exactly, please take personal issues to pms and remember this is about fashion:p:flower:

I certainly understand the point you're trying to make in saying that the show is just a show rather than the actual final pieces. However, I always felt a show was there to not only help build up an image of what the company is trying to present itself as but also (like you said) to build up anticipation. To get people excited and running into boutiques anxiously. Galliano doesn't do that for me... I find the show very artistic, that's no doubt. I believe Galliano is an artist with great skill, but when it comes to clothing - and this is what it all comes down to - I don't find them appealing and although I love to watch what he does to the models, the runway, the overall theme of the show, it's only for the pleasure of watching in that moment. After that (or even during the show), the CLOTHING is something that really doesn't cross my mind. It's as though I'm not watching a fashion show. Ahhh, I'm trying to make sense. I hope you get my point.

To add to that, I still don't know what (as j'adore dior stated) it is that I misunderstand. I don't believe I am misunderstanding anything at all - I just believe I have a different opinion on the final product of it all (clothing and show alike).

Yes, I agree with you there.. In a lot of Dior's shows I dont see anything I would actually want, but still, I do appreciate the work. It is definitely a different experience. Thats sort of another reason I love dior though; the show is sort of just like an experience where you can get the vibe of the collection. B)

But I think Galliano will soon release some more "realistic" clothes on the runway. Something more like that dress that Charlize Theron wore to the 2006 Oscars, that looked really classy, dunno if she shouldve worn it to the academy awards though...

I personally like different stuff , things that stand out from the crowd, to me gallianos designs do this .. I see them more as theatrical designs though I like to look at them but most of the stuff I would never wear. I guess to like it one hundred percent you would like it both too look at and to wear. Alo i think dior assosories are overly expensive and crap quality .. i dont think any of my dior assesories have lasten more then i few wears .. ok mayeb thats just me but i know my friends have had jewlry thats broken after two or three wears etc. such bad quality imo

I think it's pretty well died down these past couple of years.. I'm a huge Dior fan but I think the company is really starting to fall apart. What happened to the hype about Dior's sex appeal and ultrachic garments. I hate to admit it but some of it is really garbage.

theatrical designs
That's the word I was looking for!

That's what I had mentioned earlier... becoming the next Versace, if it isn't already there. In my opinion, the same thing has happened to Versace. It's just... dead. By the way, is that the "Galliano Girl" in your avatar... haha

I find that, when translated into streetwear, Dior looks somewhat immature.

I'm waiting to see where he goes with these new gaucho saddle bags though. I think these were a major improvement over the rasta collection and that stuff with all the flowers on it but he should have used non-stinky leather. :T

Hmmmm.... if Dior really is falling apart it will easily make a comeback, cuz Versace is definately making a comeback I reckon, so I wuoldnt be surprised if Dior made a comeback either, cuz it is really popular and most people would support its return.

No doubt a comeback will be supported. I get Versace, but I'd like to know what Galliano's excuse is for the falling out in the first place... Actually, after really thinking about it, I think I'd like to see Galliano leave Dior. eee some people are going to attack me for saying that. I'm getting bored of expecting one thing - outrageousness - I guess the initial shock has long passed and now although I don't know what to expect in detail, I know what to expect overall and I really want tp escape that feeling... ahhh.

I absolutley loved the 05 S/S collection.Fun and funky.Other than that...his designs scare the hell out of me.I'm serious..Some of this stuff you could wear to a halloween party or wear in a one act play.He should start a costume line.

i hope marc jacob comes to dior and show boring collections you guys want for PRESTIGIOUS and GLAMOUROUS House Of Chrsitian DIORRRRRRR

^^^ ^_^ Yeah I know. But I guess you can expect this kind of criticism for such an outrageous designer...

What is wrong with being surprised? I think that that is sort of like his trademark!

lol oh cmon people ure being too mean now (this is coming from me hahaha). The guy might have outrageous designs but t least theyre attractive to the eyes. And I hope Marc Jacobs NEVER enters Dior, cuz Dior is famous for over the top stuff and Marc Jacobs bores the crap out of me, hes far too boring

I don't really follow Dior femme, only homme.

Dior is irritating. The prices don't match the quality of the fabric, of the designs. It's a status-label. That is all.

all designers who are above mid level Department store price range, are to some extent "status-Labels" how else does one explain the prices?
