Alexander McQueen S/S 2006 Paris

Hmmm, a little disappointed by what I've seen, but I may wind up liking the whole collection.

Good lord, is that Angela Lindvall!! She hasn't shown up in Paris for what seemed like ages... Is the recent switch from IMG to One Management the reason that she's back?

Sorry for being a little thick-headed... Who is mcqueen talking about, kate who?

i can seriously say i was far more excited about angela lindvall than this collection..

That would be Kate Moss.

That t-shirt on McQueen himself championing for Kate is the best moment of the show. The clothes seem very juvenile.

dont like it~ so old so tired......no interesting~ however, if his customers love this show, then it will be ok......

love this one, and the dresses with similar shapes, but other than that I am not too impressed. However I can't say too much because yahoo does murder to any collection.

On a more serious note, Even if McQueen got out of the asylum and will never come back, I think the clothes have this unworldly element about them that makes me say yay. I mean, i miss the theatrics, but the clothes don't need it.

YES! That's exactly my thought...yes, it's sexy and vulgar but...it's damn mesmerizing. I feel it's like Kubrick...a Kubrick scene--be it totally insane or completely banale--still evokes a wholly unique Kubrick universe, down to each detail...

A work of art could be overtly sexy, vulgar, commercial, it could be all of these things and still wonderful if it transports your imagination. Of course some of the outfits are gross if you think of wearing them on a daily basis (I wouldn't wear most of them ;) ), but the vulgarity, the champion belts, the skin... it's all part of the plan, the vision...which is quite complete, and quite poisonous. B)

Now that Donatella is a certified geriatric, somebody has to inherit the Versace $$$$$ business... :innocent:

MORE WWF??? WTF!!!

(Some of the pix weren't displaying before, so I'd missed these till now. I really am mystified as to how the exact same hideous belt can show up at Givenchy and McQueen ... I understand trend forecasting ... I understand "something in the air, the spirit of the season" ... but someone help me understand these belts  ...)

^ zazie..

anyone else actually *miss* the theatrics? at least it gives back the fantasy in the fashion...i want to see these girls with interesting makeup and ridiculous headdresses!
