Balenciaga F/W 11.12 by Steven Meisel

The tile shot is absolutely gorgeous...such a VAST improvement from last season...

I'm sorry, but if you're casted for a damn blue chip campaign, could you at least bother to look alive? That is my biggest issue with Meisel and his continuous use of new girls. Most of them are still so uncomfortable in front of the camera that they're nothing more than a lifeless, pretty face.

I'd rather just see Natasha, Freja, and Raquel dominate everything again. At least they don't like dull clones.

Interesting! Personally I think I would rather see fresh (er) faces than the same faces always! especially Natasha...she's, like, always the same gucci poses .
And yes,I agree with 90% of the people who have commented and want David Sims back! or at least a photographer change... I think Josh Olins could do this kind of work just fine.

Then you clearly haven't seen enough of her work if you only think about Gucci when her name is mentioned

I wish they'd bring Sims back again.

IA! new faces look fresh and fit the brand perfectly, also how can ppl make conclusions about their expressions when this is such a small image and we can barely recognize them

I echo the comments saying this could be Meisel's best Balenciaga campaign, the concept is superb.

Not exactly jumping out of my seat here, but it's at least interesting.
Juliane has one of those faces that commands attention, as witnessed by her current V.I. cover too.
Great to see Liisa Winckler is featured in these ads too.:D

what happened to the edginess we saw last season? while the campaign remains pleasant enough, it looks a bit formulaic when compared to the unconventional nature of last season's effort.

This preview of the campaign features the only outfits from the collection that were "watchable". I wonder how those disgusting chunky jackets will appear in this campaign...

Well, it looks great for me. The clothes, models, photography, settings look amazing. Meisel has done a great work for the brand.
I'm also happy to see Liisa

Meisel is soo wrong for this house! Its simply to bland, to uninspired!

Yeah, I think of prada at first sight.
It's kinda boring for me...

Juliane Gruner seriously just stood there the whole time, didn't she? I'm not liking any of the new shots. The group shots are just awkward, uncomfortable and forced.

i loved that Liya popped up outta nowhere, got her OG shot, and was done... that's a bad B****

this campaign is perfect, and I love the contrast of the old church with the futuristic setting of the tiled background
my only complaint are those vest... if those don't make the girls look extra bulky and uncomfortable

^^I think it's a wrong link, it takes me to the Spring 2012 Menswear Highlights video.

Does anyone know whether the right part of the campaign images, with this background tiles, has something to do with the work of Brazilian artist Adriana Varejao?

Yes! It seems Milou is part of this campaign after all!
