dear GOD.. if there was a place called 'crap land'.. it would have to be this thread!

My girl Angie is living the life:

High Voodoo priestess, Sex Goddess in three time zones, hippie wild child, earth mother, half of the the most talked about Power-couple and she gets to have a day job too.

Bow down!

I rarely feel sorry for celebrities but I have to give it to this woman (even if I think she home wrecked Brad and Jen). The crap she deals with on a daily basis is insane. Can't these tabs pick on someone else for like at least a week? Jesus.

Not trying to pick a fight................
but that drives me up the wall.

I know that is your opinion but I think hmmmmmm maybe Brad had something to do with it too.

^Oh I definitely think Brad is at fault too for stepping out on his wife. I don't buy this 'We were already broken up' BS. Regardless you file for divorce then you date other people, not the other way around. I don't blame Angie 100% but on the other hand I don't think she was too worried about him being married. I'm not trying to beat this dead horse just my opinion.

^Yep...........
I understand what you are saying.

What I don't get is why she is the scape goat when there are tons of other actress who were "homewreckers".

what I dont get is, why do people blame the women when its the mans fault?

whether she went for him or not, he MUST have initiated it.

im sorry but like Paws said statements like that also get my blood up.

just b/c angie has a racy past shes the bad one? its just a given?

PLEASE!

its 'innocent' women like Jen manniston who are the conniving sympathy wh*res on planet earth.

I think the reason why Angelina is so reviled is both a question of timing and exposure and also of PR spin.

Brad, Jennifer and Angelina are superstars so of course reactions are going to be exacerbated when it comes to them.
Nobody cares about Laura Dern or Bridget Moynahan so they get a pass for having affairs with married men when more famous women get a raw deal for the same offense (not that I would call the Brad and Angelina relationship an affair in the physical sense, but that's beside the point).

The second reason is that celebrities in the age of TMZ and Internet are no longer 'sacred monsters' who can get away with outrageous behavior because of who they are.
People now expect them to behave with the same moral and behavioral standards as ordinary people. It partly the fault of the stars themselves who have worked hard to market themselves as 'just like us', and partly because of the paparazzi and celeb blog culture that shows them 'warts and all' 24/7 and takes away the magic.
Think about it, nobody calls Elizabeth Taylor a 'w****', even though she had an affair with and married her best friend's husband. Paul Newman and Joanne aren't called trash even though they were both married to other people when they started a relationship, etc.
Stars back in the day could get away with bending moral rules. Angelina simply can't.

Another factor is luck and image control. For example, Halle Berry has two hit and run on her record, yet she has this very positive image as a class act.
In my book, leaving somebody for dead at the side of a road is infinitely worse than having an affair but Halle is very lucky that she has good 'fixers' and PR people and so she got away with it.
On the contrary, and especially at the beginning, the press was very vicious towards Angelina and she had little control over what was written about her. It got worse when Jennifer spun the story to her advantage (with that weepy VF interview) and as a result Angelina's image was very damaged and it has been an uphill battle even since to restore it (with the charity and the children, etc).

^ wow.

well said. even though i think theres alot more than what we are shown. the media plays dirty games.

^ I think the reason why the woman or Angie in this case is blamed when the man is pretty much left alone is that they are usually blaming the single party. It's not like she didn't know Brad wasn't married and should have kept her distance but I get the feeling (based on what I've read and what I know) she didn't. Whether or not Brad initiated it, if a married man comes up to me and tries something I would walk away I don't care who it is. It's called respect for other peoples relationship IMO. If two people want to implode within themselves then fine, have at it but if there is a third party that gets into that mess then it's (usually) the third party's fault. My opinion wouldn't change if it was reverse sexes. I just didn't like that she was either pulled or put herself into that situation. I think that she a very smart woman.

^ Hmm, that is true.

I completely understand what you're saying when you put it in a "if i were in that position" way.. :flower:

I just think they should stop bashing her now. They all over did it.

I mean in the case of alicia keys, there is less bashing - hardly any in fact, and that was a worse case of man snagging.

My take on this is that the Pitt's were separated way before it was announced and I think it was Brad who actually went after her, my basis always go back to Cox quote in the VF article about Brad having feelings for Angelina and he was truthful about it to Jennifer and he fought it for a while and one of her friends saying that it's not that Aniston didn't know that there was an enchantment, and a friendship with Angelina.
I just don't understand after almost 6 years why Angelina is still to blame and you have people like Beckinsale, Jlo, Tori Spelling, Claire Danes just not get any blame at all. Might also be because the wife in their case didn't wage a war against them and move on.

^ that is the impression i got as well until i read what mcclaire said..

but yes. the attacks on angie have been severe and for too too long.

In that cringe-worthy VF interview, Jennifer admitted the relationship had been in serious trouble and pretty much doomed ever since the end of Friends. So that was years of problems before Angelina even came in the picture.
Imo, all Angelina did was giving Brad the courage for getting out of the unhappy charade that had become his marriage. It's not like she broke down a happy union that would have lasted anyway.

Do not forget that nasty piece of work Julia Robert, the most mystifying case of them all.
She actually wore a T-shirt insulting the wife of her lover. Can't for the life of me understand why her image survived such a crass move and why she still has a wide female fan-base.

I don't agree with that view.
It is the responsibility of the people who make the vows and the commitments to respect their own relationships. If a married person doesn't respect his/her own relationship (by straying or other ways) then why should anyone?
