Salt pulled in $36 million on approximately 5,200 screens at 3,612 locations, which was an above average launch for a serious spy movie. In terms of estimated attendance, it was in the same range as The Bourne Identity, which was apt given that both featured super spies on the run with their identities in question. Salt star Angelina Jolie batted in her wheelhouse and scored her fourth best opening after Wanted, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Ms. Jolie has proven to only be bankable in action movies, but has mostly been ignored by audiences in other genres.

And this is the main reason why I love Angelina the actress.
She doesn't wallow in bull**** rom-coms or love-interest fillers; she does what the boys do and she does it better then them.
Considering Salt opened better than Bourne (and you know it's going to kill it in the international box-office), I think we can expect a franchise.
Oh, and one more dent in the Hollywood cliche that women can't be credible as action heroes.

I disagree with people laying in to Jennifer and suggesting she cries and seeks pity. This post is not Brange bashing, just an observation on Jennifer!!! - just a warning

I actually think she handled a very public divorce and heartbreak with diginity. She has never spoken of Angelina or Brad in negative to terms to the press. If I recall correctly only time she mentioned it publicly was when Angelina said something in an interview that she'll tell her children that "Mommy & Daddy fell in love making this movie" (Mr & Mrs Smith obvs). Jennifer then said something like "that was pretty uncool" the implication being that J&B were, at that stage, still married.

I definitely see things differently to most people in this thread but I thought honestly Jen was graceful, dignified and showed that she's actually a really strong woman

As for Jen sulking and being lost in a pit of despair, I know how I feel about most of my exes - and its not complimentary! You just move onwards and upwards. I dont think she gives a toss anymore. She looks like she's having the time of her life to me.

^I like Jennifer, wouldn't call myself a fan, but I agree that she's very charming and good-looking (someone who isn't either and rides by on her "looks" would be Jessica Alba, in my opinion). I agree with your post, but I think the "uncool" thing wasn't the affair, just talking about getting together; she would have preferred Angie would keep quiet, which is understandable. It could mean an affair, or it could mean it was a reminder of bad times with her marriage. I wish her the best in life; sometimes I think the reason she hasn't settled down is because of the tabloid scrutiny.

I saw Salt. I couldn't picture her a CIA agent, her body was a deterrent. I am surprised the director didn't tell her to bulk up. But I will say she definitely knows how to hold a gun. She can cry like no other.

I was watching old episodes of Nikita with Peta Wilson. If I had to put on my money on Jolie vs. Wilson. Team Wilson all the way.

I am happy Jolie is making her way past the boys whose do action movies. No one in Hollywood can do it but her currently. Good for her.

I disagree with that article about Jolie only being bankable in action films. Her action films make more money, because they're big budget films and therefore are expected to.

However, her dramatic roles like The Changeling, A Mighty Heart, The Good Shepherd, and Girl, Interrupted may not have made a ton of money, but they were still critically praised and received numerous awards and also managed to earn back their budgets.

I for one would love to see Angelina do a Judd Apatow film. She only does drama, action, and animation.

In Star's defence, the two nipple are covered with tape, which I have been told is sure sign of Satan worship.

Apparently those are pictures of her in bondage gear and doing drugs. And apparently those are the shady secrets she's been keeping from Brad and will destroy their relationships.

Angie's so good at keeping secrets that she spoke all about that in countless interviews.
I'm not sure what they are trying to achieve there. The whole world already knows about her past heroin addiction and violent sexual proclivity (knives, S&M, etc) because she volunteered the information.
