Burberry Prorsum F/W 08.09 Milan

most of this just looks like a repeat of his previous collections. good clothes, but it's getting boring now. the feather pieces are quite cool, but otherwise i'm not that impressed.

The feathery coat Irina L is wearing is amazing, one of my favorite pieces this season. I love how its been accessorised with the metal necklace, it really transforms the coat in to something pretty fierce.

Lots of lovely textures in the collection but overall it seems like a rehash of past ideas.

ETA: hmm the more I see the more I like the collection. Admittedly there is nothing new here but it seems to hold well together. I really like the textures and colour pallet.

I see some great coats and the shoes are awesome!

some nice bags/shoes but the rest is pure regurgitation of other collections/designers

Every season I'm kind of baffled. To me, Burberry just doesn't fit in Europe, despite it's heritage.

It's not cutting edge enough for London, and that's fine.

It's not powerful and dramatic enough for Milan, also fine.

It's not creative or forward enough for Paris...end of story.

Honestly these clothes would be much better suited to NY fashion week. He's been beating the mid-60's egg shaped skirts, mod coats and mini-shift dresses for as long as I can remember now. Even with all of the new (new for Burberry anyway) textures and surface detail, this bores me.

It's become mind-numbing at best.

And Chris, don't you dare think people wouldn't notice that gold painted feather bit a la Proenza Schouler.

beautiful play with same old garments, it bores me as ive seen exactly the same at the mens show and basically its bringing nothing new... but i can not hate it because it looks so masterly elaborated!!!

the pants look divine too! :woot:

are we sure christopher actually DESIGNS this? or does he just use leftovers from other designers from the past few seasons?

It doesn't look bad, just highly unoriginal and uninspiring

None of the shows from NY till now have WOWED me!! Most of them are so boring and weird! WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS SEASON?!
I'm hoping Gucci and Prada will save us in Milan!

Burberry is always the same to me. Plus this season its ripping off Prada and it's making it a little too obvious!

I understand the need to establish some sort of continued aesthetics, but even with the new texture, Burberry Prorsum seems so repetitive.

I don't know why people are hatin. I think it's really great.

i think he trying to discover a mnodern take on classicism. classic is the ewpitome of burberry. i love his use of embellishments and slight plays on color.
i agree about the hats, but those trousers are wicked.

it seems like he bases each collection on set looks with a few surprises, like those trousers. remember, burberry is one of the few labels that makes money off its rtw. so it can't be too much.

omg such haters out there , I think this collection is da bomb , mind you given this is a recession now , and main backbone are its trenches and scarves ,so they are constraints , and quit saying the pants are like prada , since when did prada invent bell bottoms????
