Carine Roitfeld leaves Vogue Paris *Update* Emmanuelle Alt named new Editor-in-Chief

Wouldn't it be AWKWARD if Emmanuelle Alt will be appointed as the New EIC next week but Carine will step down at the end of Jan.

I just hope Alt won't be appointed as the new EIC next week. Puh-lease. I'd take Virginie Mouzat over Emmanuelle.

Alt as EIC would be a ****ing joke. Homegirl isn't even able to show different forms of styling in the editorials she styles, let alone coming up with new ideas each month for the mag

It will be ok to see emmanuelle at the helm, because I think some of her editorials are great. and her style is super not snobbish - which I love. but will she be albe to give something new and exciting to this idea-starved mag?

i'm sure it will be someone french. Have you discussed Barbieri, i wasn't following?

Considering she's one of the main reason why this magazine has become so repetitive, I'd say NO.

It seems like they're trying to bring in someone more business-minded, which Carine wasn't; I can't imagine Alt is either.

It's not that Alt is a bad stylist (though even that's arguable) but I seriously think she doesn't have a single creative bone in her. And her profession is styling, not editing/writing, there's a big difference.

I agree with you, I think they might put an ex-editor in Carine's place, that would be more appropriate

If Emmanuelle takes over than at least people can breathe a sigh of relief that VP won't become what has happened to Vogue Russia.

well, carine's profession was styling too, right? I honestly think that almost anybody can do that job. if carine can do it, anybody can!

If they want to choose another stylist to take the helm, I think Barbieri would be a better choice than Alt. I love Alt, but I think her aesthetic is much, much too narrow for that of an editor-in-chief's. The magazine would be flooded with stories on Michael Jackson and Flashdance every month and Daria would have 5 covers a year and Iselin, Isabeli, Natasha and Raquel would take turns appearing on the other five. I think Barbieri would make for a much more versatile editor than Alt. I'm surprised no one has mentioned her as a possibility yet.

Well, I'm not sure if I still want to see Daria in Balmain in every single issue.

I'm not familiar with Virginie Mouzat, why is everyone praising her, why do you think her work is great or/and that she's qualified to replace Carine ? just curious  because I've never seen her work and I can't find it on TFS, although she has a topic.

Alt would be the perfect choice. I love her. VP would remain the same
